My slow 135g build

the water level is about 1/4-1/3 of the way up. i'm thinking i will add the sand when its 2/3 of the way full, using caps on the CL pipes while the sand settle the adding the BR & salt. i'm not sure when the CL screen will get here but thats basically what we're waiting on.

just came back from HD with more lumber to rebuild the tub stands & pipe adapters for the CL screens. they didnt have any white eggcrate so i grabbed a silver one, when i got to the register it priced at $24 when the white is $11 so i put it back, i wasnt sure about the silver in SW anyways.

the tank is about half way full, i'll probably stop there before adding the BR & sand.

good call on the silver eggcrate, that stuff peels and is a stupid price, looking good JoJo but not too sure about the electrical cord running under the tank lol

i thought it would add a little drama to the thread! i had to use the outlet to work on the electrical in the tank room. good eye though.

i'm heading back to HD to return some lumber & pvc adapters ect. & heading to the other HD or Lowes to look for eggcrate

I absolutely love that wall. I plan on doing something similar in the guest bathroom.

thanks Greg. i just returned from HD, none of the 3 stores close by have the white eggcrate. the only one is about 30-35mins away. i'll try Lowes tomorrow, not sure if Wal-mart would sell something like that.

i redid the stand for the RO tubs so only one sits on the stand, the other sits on the floor. i really wanted to make the W/C tub automatic by putting a PH in it & having it on a digital timer & all i would have to do is add the salt the day before but i'm not sure if thats the way to go yet.

Looking good! TOo bad they dont have any egg crate, I get mine from Lowes so I know they carry it but who knows if its in stock??

Are you filling your tank with RO/DI water right now and then mixing salt in later?

What is a CL screen? Is that a closed loop screen?

i'll be checking Lowes tomorrow for sure. yea, its about 3/4 the way full, once the sump is full i'll add the salt and let it mix. yea, i ordered closed loop basket screens that will sit just above the sand level. i have the pipes and everything ready for them, i could just install the pipes add the sand, salt & rocks now then just install the screens as soon as the get here. its just so overwhelming, like a kid in a candy shop!!!

Why add salt just the day before, it wouldn't hurt to have it age longer than that.

i would think about possibly looking for another type of screen material eggcrate does take away quite a bit of light i noticed the difference from when i had it on there and when i removed it...i took mine out as i nolonger have any jumpers in my tank but i plan on building a cover out of like a screen or something along those lines because it doesn't take away as much light
