Re: My slow 135g build

I use maxi jets all the time for pumping water up from 5g buckets into my tank with clear hose. So I know they work. The size depdns on how far up you need to go I suppose. Are you thinking for ATO? I just bought an ATO today! (Auto top off device)

Just know that the aqua controller Jr. can only controll up to 12 devices I think. So fi you have more than that it wont work. But I plug my heaters into an extension and then into one of the controllers sockets. So I really get more use out of thigns like fans and heaters since they need to be on at the same time. Also, use the DC's not the X10's. Maybe you think the controller is cheap because you arent looking at how much it costs with the DC8 or the DC4??? Or maybe its just because I am a poor college student! haha

Plus you know about the trouble I have been having with my aqua jr. from my chronicle so just make sure and hook it up right away so you know its not a friggin lemon! haha.

Re: My slow 135g build

thanks for the info Greg. i have one pond pump, i'll see if i can find an identical one. that way, i can have them both on the same extension cord going to the same timer, this way one will pump water out of the sump the same time the others pump water in from the RO tub.

CMG, i'm probably going to hold off on the controller for a while.

Thanks Craig.

i fixed the leak in the sump, & flushed all the pipes with tap water just to make sure all the pvc shavings were out. tomorrow i have to install the circuit breaker & start filling the DT.

JoJo... you will love the controller and wonder how you ever got along without it! I resisted for a long time too, then took the plunge and never regretted it.

Re: My slow 135g build

JoJo I love my ACjr! There is a learning curve for sure... I was PM'ing Mark (Octoman) for a few days about my lunar sim module, but I've got it all figured out, and now the programming seems so easy!

I can't wait until I can get it set up as in my Final Plan, down in the basement. It's going to be so simple and awesome!

Re: My slow 135g build

thanks for the support everyone. so we have more in common than just reefing, huh?

i had to email marinedepot because i had the basket style strainers for the CL in my cart and when i went to buy they were gone & so was the option to buy them, DM says it probably a glitch so they're getting back with me. that gives me more time to check my order list to make sure i didnt forget something.

Nikki, i may follow your lead and run the system with tap & vinegar( i wish i would have thought of that today) i fluched the DT & pipes today with tap, should have threw some vinegar in then.

Re: My slow 135g build

Joe, I'd "think" just the tapwater flush would be enough. Your tank & all is new & fairly sterile already. The clorine in the tap is plenty. Be sure to properly fush that fancy, new ro/di unit! I didn't & ended up having to replace the ro membrane & di material way too soon. We are all looking forward to seeing some saltwater & sand in that tank.

Re: My slow 135g build

hey Brian, i didnt think of the chlorine. the pumps are new but the DT is used but i think the reef was is good condition when it was taken down. the sump & fuge came from my previous SW set ups so i know they are ok.

i'll have to go through the directions on the RO unit again to figure out how to flush it, thanks for the heads up.

i dont want to keep yall waiting to much longer, so i'll keep up the momentum.

Priorities are good, JoJo!

There are lots of ADD'ers in THIS house. Andrea, John, Bryan and Chris! Probably me, too, if I'm totally 100% completely honest. Andrea is the Queen of ADD, however! Add'ers are awesome people, totally!!
