i have to be to work in an hour but i think i'm going to fill it before i go.

plumber tape on the adapter that screws into the bulkhead or will it be ok without it?

Jack is the man! i got my RO unit today, this thing is a beast. i opened the box and thought " uh oh, what i have i gotten myself into?" i'm so siked to get this thing pumping.

In related news, on the other side of the house..actually in the garage,a 135g tank is being reported to have been filled to the top of the overflow box with no apparent leaks. it is said the owner of the tank is really satisfied & will give us a more detailed report tomorrow.

thanks fellas. its to the point now that my wife is like "what else do you need to get it running, just go ahead a order it!" so i may try to slip in a OM or something say it was an necessity.

i'll let the tank sit until i get all the RO plumbing done, then its on to the next step

i had originally planned on running the supply line for the RO unit from the front of the house to the rear but now i'm thinking about using the cold water line from the bathroom sink. any ideas?

sorry the diagram came out so small

the blue line is the outside line that will be fed from the front of the house to a spiket in the rear of the house. which is about 100ft of travel, which i may need a booster pump for.

the green line is an inside line thats from the bathroom sink which is on the opposite side of the wall of the tank room. the pipe would have to be ran on the inside of the house. but water would only travel 20ft at most.

That's the same RO unit I have.. it works very very well! Wish I could help you with the logistics of running the water line, but my brains are fried and I can't think straight yet today. I'm so behind on sleep.

Have you decided about LR yet?

no...& i need to make a decision quick. i'm ordering the LS & salt today. i'm starting to plan my DIY kalk reactor too.

i'm ordering my sand, salt & test kits now.

Sand:

2 of these Aragamax

2 of these special grade

3 of these 160g mix Reef Crystals

i'm thinking of going with API test kits:

GH, KH, phosphates, calcium, PH, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite

am i missing anything
