Thats what i'm thinking. I picked up 4 cans of black paint, 2 for the back & 1 for each side, it should be enough. i'll stop by the shop tomorrow & see about the acrylic for the new overflow.

oh, i got all of the blue acrylic off, and the old silicon cleaned off. i forgot to pick up the aquarium silicon from Lowes while getting the paint so i'll have to run up their tomorrow

Lowes is way awesome!! But at the lowes here its help yourself, there's noone to get on a first name basis with. But I kind of like it that way, that way I don't have to prove over and over that I'm a plumbing dingbat by trying to explain what I'm doing.

we had a cookout/poolparty for my sister's birthday today, while this was going on i broke away to paint the tank. i had to answer a boatload of questions about the tank & SW in general. it felt nice hearing people say they've never seen anything like it & how nice it will be once its done.

Ok, now WAIT a minute. Did you say a Pool Party??? I THINK it made it up to 50 today. If you catch a cold, that will NOT be an acceptable excuse for delaying work on your tank!!!

50*, it was 82* with high humidity & the sun had its high beams on. everything came out nice, we enjoyed ourselves

Hey Terry, i missed that poor kitty comment. you have no reason to feel sorry for her, cant you tell she's pampered? she walks around with her nose up to everybody, yells when her food isnt ready on time, is over fed, has her own bed but i have to fight with her to get out of my bed area, which she's on in the picture. if you want to feel sorry for anyone, feel sorry for me

Yeah JoJo, I was being sarcastic about "poor kitty". You can tell that the kitty rules the roost.

So.... Poor JoJo...

That pic of the dogs is a great pic. Tug of war!!!

Looks like you did a great job with the painting too. I've always used the tape on backgrounds but the big tank was painted. It's really a much cleaner look.
