That's what makes RS so awesome! Simple statements to point out the obvious without making the other person feel like an idiot.

That looks great, JoJo! Are you making your own overflow boxes?

Re: My slow 135g build

I don't know that I'd use acrylic with a glass tank. I'd have glass cut and then silicon on the teeth to the top of the glass after the box was siliconed into the tank.

How far from the back edge is the hole towards the front?

Re: My slow 135g build

normally i would do glass, but since there's already a huge blue piece siliconed to the inside of the back wall & what i pulled out was acrylic, i was just going to go back with it.

How would i get glass to match the back wall other than doing like yours was, with the color sheet between glass?

from the back wall to the end of hole is about 5".

Re: My slow 135g build

JoJo, you might already know this, but just make sure that you have a good amount of acrylic to silicon to the glass. If you use like 1/4" or 3/8" you can glue a strip of 1/4" wide acrylic to the inside of the box sides so you have a lot of surface to silicon to the glass. We do it all the time.

Re: My slow 135g build

Oh, if you wanted to match the blue with paint(if you were going to use glass), the blue is called cobalt.
