Now THERE was something I hadn't heard before. Look at the glass with polarised sunglasses on. If you see black/dark looking blobs, it's tempered.

while checking on the rock tub this morning i noticed a leak underneath it. so off to Lowes i will be going for a Brute or something similar. also will look at acrylic to widen the overflow

well Lowes didnt have any blue acrylic so i could extend my overflow so i'll have to keep checking around. but i did get a 32g Brute to move the rock into & use as a top off container later.

I'm not sure what this is but it does not rub off



this pump(600gph) is in the middle to help with the circulation



any idea about this, there were more rock with it on them but not as much. does coraline stain?



the hose on the pump is directed to the bottom of the tank to keep thing moving, the 3 PH are along the wall of the tub doing a toliet bowl effect.



any suggestions on what the temp should be & if i should have lights over the rock?

I'm curious about the temp also. I believe I read that normal SW temps are where it should be, so 78-80*.

i may be moving the container back into the house, as i went into the garage, looked at the thermometer 86 degrees

I finally got the holes drilled in the tank, it took awhile & the first hole was nerve wrecking! i just took it slow, did my best to keep the drill straight & let it do the work. my only concern is i may have the overflow drain & return too close.

The bulkheads DO have about a 1/4" to a 1/2" lip all the way around them. I'm surprised you had the nerve to drill so close to the edge!

hehehehe, I'm not anywhere NEAR as brave as you to be drilling holes into a tank.

the edges should be fine, the bulkheads maybe to close to each other but i'll find out when they get here.

You should have go the whole drilling on video I have drilled nurmerous holes in acrylic tanks always shyed away from glass. I just caught onto this thread what brand of hole saw did you use I see them on Ebay all the time was it one of those kits?

just checked & theres less than 3/4" betwenn the 2 holes so hopefully the bulkhead lip are only 1/4" or else i will be doing some trimming.

Hey Eric, i was going to video tape it but we have a digital recorder & my wife has one of teaching observations on it & she was scared i would record over it, sorry.

I just ordered these i couldnt get the heavy duty one because they were 2 5/8" & my holes are 2 3/8". i havent gotten a delivery date yet, though.
