| Watch this Ma! | Re: My slow 135g build Wow!!! Great job!!! I especially like how you glued labels next to each of these things. ![]() (i'm kidding about the labels, of course) ![]() I'm really curious, where the pipe goes into the outlet/switch box, is that sealed and water proof? I've never used the electrical conduit before and I'm going to use it for the big tanks.

| Golden Moray | Re: My slow 135g build Hey Terry you know how forgetful i am so i had to label everything. the conduit isnt glued or anything but the pipes fit nice & snug so i'm not too worried. as you can see there are some gaps between the outlet boxes & cover plates, so that will have to be fixed before any water is added. also the outlets inside the stand are facing down, over the sump & fuge so any outlets not beings used will have those plastic safety covers to keep moisture out.Lynn, thanks. if i can get mine half as nice as yalls, i will be happy.

| Golden Moray | Re: My slow 135g build I'm starting on the plumbing for the CLS, hopefully i can get some help on how to run the plumbing since all the bulkheads in my tank are 3/4" and the inlet for the snapper is 2". Two of the drains will merge together and enter the pump. I have a few questions, 1) will that be enough water flow or will air pockets form? 2) should the lines be merged furthest or closest to the pump?

| Golden Moray | Re: My slow 135g build everything seems to be the same size 3/4". that cant be very much flow for the main drain & return, i wish i would have thought about this before now.

| Reef Addict (hopeless) ![]() | Re: My slow 135g build Wow! that's some impressive electrical work! Maybe you need to make a trip to North Carolina ![]() My only input (and it's not really based on anything but Keeping It Simple) is to combine them sooner and keeping fewer pieces at the junction of the two. No real "logic" other than keeping it simple. ![]() Looks GREAT!!

| Watch this Ma! | Re: My slow 135g build My big tank is the same way, JoJo. I'm going to use two of the 1" holes for the return from the sump and all the rest of the holes (6 3/4" and 3 1") for the closed loop. The three 1" will feed the pump and the 6 3/4" will be the return. I'm going to user my lifereef overflow boxes to get water to the sump. While the snapper is lower volume, you'd need to use probably 3 of them, at least, to provide it enough water to prevent cavitation and bubbles.

| Golden Moray | Re: My slow 135g build Wats up Terry. I guess i will be using all 3 bulkheads on the bottom of the tank to feed the sequence & then run the returns up the back of the tank. I'm wondering if using the 3 drains isnt quite enough, will throttling back on outlet of the pump help out? I plan on using a SCWD on the CL. Also any idea how much flow i will be getting the Overflow since the drain and return is only 3/4"? Thanks for all the help?

| Watch this Ma! | Re: My slow 135g build Flow Chart 1/2 " PVC 3.5 GPM 210 GPH 3/4" PVC 6 GPM 360 GPH 1" PVC 10 GPM 600 GPH 1 1/4" PVC 20 GPM 1,200 GPH 1 1/2" PVC 30 GPM 1,800 GPH 2" PVC 60 GPM 3,600 GPH 2 1/2" PVC 100 GPM 6,000 GPH 3" PVC 175 GPM 10,500 GPH This is for drain volume. On the return side, the pipe will restrict it a bit but basically, it's the pumping capacity of the pump.

| Watch this Ma! | Re: My slow 135g build I just thought of something. I believe that the Sequence pumps require to be flooded BUT they will create a suction. So I wonder if one of the drains would be enough? "Sequence pumps are end suction centrifugal units, designed to be placed outside the pond." What does "end suction centrifugal" mean? I found this... Hilge Once the pump is primed, I'm not sure that the gravity values mean anything because the pump will increase the flow with a suction. I'm not 100% sure though...

| Bryozoan | Re: My slow 135g build Wow 10 pages of posts!!! I don't have the patience to go thru them all but if yo have not finished the anti drain issue of your spray bar, I can show you in a simple diagram it can be done while the bar is still at the bottom.
