Re: Lorraine's 125 (et. al) - The 2nd Year

Thanks D! That was a pic of him after lights out last night.

I suppose one of these days I should put on the black background that I have for it instead of having it just sit on a shelf.

Right now I just scrape the coraline off the back for company! It's about due. I didn't even clean the glass for the pics.

Ummm, nah, I don't think so!

Besides, it looks really comfortable and happy in your tank. And your tank is probably as wide as my big tank. It's only 24".

Re: Lorraine's 125 (et. al) - The 2nd Year

Well today is a great day, why you ask, well because I get to make fish food. Well I don't really like to do it, but my fishies love me because I do, so what can I say.

It starts with soaking shrimp and cod in RO water, then blending it in the blender. This time I left part of the shell on the shrimp. I don't think I will do that next time and I don't really like how the cod blends (first time I tried it). To this I add a tablespoon or so of frozen cyclopeeze.

In a separate bowl I soaked a package of mysis, 1/2 package of prime reef, 1/2 package of marine cuisine. I drained this mix and added it to the shrimp/cod mixture. I don't blend this, just gentley mix it in by hand.

This gives me that the first pic shows.

After that I gather up all the other supplies I need (shown in the second pic). I usually just use what I have on hand. This time I had lots of vitamins around and used a bit of everything. The freeze-dried foods work well to soak up the vitamins.

Then I reuse the blender to soak the seaweed select and nutramar ogo in R/O. After it is soaked, I blend it, then drain it. Add a bit of all the freezed dried food, and the vitamins and let them sit to rehydrate some more.

I forgot Mr. Palani's favorite food (krill), so decided to add that at the end. I smash it in a baggie first. Although he likes big pieces no one else does.

Re: Lorraine's 125 (et. al) - The 2nd Year

Then you make little patties out of them and put them in a ziploc bag. Lay them flat in the freezer. Once frozen, take them out and cut them into daily rations.

And, make sure to eat breakfast in the middle of doing all of this too! (No, I didn't cook breakfast at the same time, I am just spoiled.)

Fishies love to lick the bowl.

I love watching people make mush...preps me for one of my chores when I get home. Your Bluespot looks happy! Is it just shrooms and the nem/clowns in the 50?
