| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Lorraine's 125 (et. al) - The 2nd Year Scott - It is a 55 gallon tank. I'm mostly getting it because of the nicer stand, and the fact that it includes the HOB refugium as well as the skimmer. T / HMA - Thanks! He was so showing off that day! Usually all my pics of him look the same. vdituri - You offering to come set up the new tank? Woody - It is usually a well behaved site, not sure why it wouldn't let you play. I just realized I never posted my new prizes!

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Lorraine's 125 (et. al) - The 2nd Year I might as well add yet another pretty thing to the tank. I saved some cash on the new 55 tank setup, so I stopped by a new lfs that had just opened. Look what I found... it was on sale...I had to buy it! At least I passed up the Bluespot Jawfish that they had there. BJ doesn't understand why I would do that, here is a photo of him pouting.

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Lorraine's 125 (et. al) - The 2nd Year Not sure what to do with the conversion of the anemone tank....here are choices I have to make in the next few hours... Use my existing 50 tank or switch to the 55 tank Keep my existing 1-1/2 aragonite (#2 grade) sand bed Use the fine sand bed that will come with the 55 (2-3 inches) Combine the two sand beds for a deeper sand bed If I keep the 50 tank, I would be able to leave the green carpet anemone (and possibly the rock with the RBTA with the large orange sponge) in the tank when I switch over to the new stand. Help me, help me, I am unable to decide these things on my own (don't know why).

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Lorraine's 125 (et. al) - The 2nd Year I'm now a firm believer in the benefits of a DSB. The tank really will become self sufficient after about a year, and the anemones will love you for it. I'd combine the sand. Moving those anemones to the 55 shouldn't be a problem. Moving the sponge could be since you would need to keep it completely submerged the entire time. At least, you should. The thing is though, the anemones will probably do a walk about in their new surroundings and most likely wouldn't end up where you would like them. I'd combine the sand in the 55 and move everything so you have additional space for that carpet, if not another anemone.
