Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

Hey Sarah! I just caught up on your thread. Very nice work I was hoping the homemade rock was going to work for you since that is something I have thought about doing myself but I suppose it is easier (not cheaper) to just buy live/dry reef rock instead...
Excellent work on your sump! Keep up the good work!

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

ok.. i bought my rock! lol... skimmer will be bought on monday . i was thinking about the terminator II, but its foot print is like the exact width if not more than what i have alotted! :P... so i think i will go with the ASM G-2 or the ASM G1X.

the rock is about 30 pounds of the cherry picked marco rock(dry) some tonga shelf rock (dry) form marco, i got some of their Australian spaghetti rock for the refugium and then a mix of figi and tonga rock (dry) from marco. then i went to live aquaria and got about 30 pounds of their Lalo rock, and then i went to PEA and got about 30 pounds of their tonga fusion rock! :P i CANNOT WAIT!!!! yay! im going to have water and rock all set up with in the next week and a half! woohoo!!!

Wow Sarah! Sounds like Christmas Time at your house.

Can't wait to see some pics! And then the struggle with patience begins as the curing takes place.

And according to Lynn, you're going to LOVE that ASM.

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

ok, update...

since i clean and manage my husbands tank at work, he is having the company buy my new skimmer for me! LOL.. he is the owner :P.... but i had to put in the skimmer i had in his tank because his was WAY too small, and he is having a serious algae problem... so i took over the tank and am now in the process of clearing it up. SO i am going with the Octopus NW 150.

The lighting i am going with is the 48 inch Giesemann Infiniti 2x250W HQI + 4x54W T5 Light Fixture - Black now this is not the moonlight edition(mucho dinero!)... and i want moon lights... is there a certain moonlight i should use? a particular brand someone prefers? and do i just clip them on somewhere? lol... thanks!!! OH also, does anyone know of a good dealer to get thise particular Lighting system from?

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

Sarah, I know there are a few "add on" type moonlights for tanks, Coralife makes some that are on goosenecks, and there are a few others out there. Try googling and see what you get. Neptune makes a set designed for use with their aquacontroller as well, if you have one of those. It's designed to be attached with screws, but you could probably use something else, as long as it can handle the heat.

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

If you're planning on having SPS, what will you be using for circulation? For SPS, you should provide around 30x the volume of the tank.
