Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

The mag 7 is good for your skimmer. I replaced mine with a Sedra needle wheel pump but still i did it with that one for years.
Sorry I did not reply to your PM yet. I have been very busy and still am. I have to run now but will get them pictures for you tonight

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

If you find that you can use that pump great but if you need to replace it do what Gary did and go with a Sedra NW pump.

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

ok! i got my 30g tank, for the refugium build. i have the acrylic i have the sylicone! i have the Dremmel... its cutting time baby! LOL... haha! we have all the specs laid out, i even have cardboard baffles at the moment to make sure our specs work out! ill get a pic of our set up soon!

My dad also got me this Liquid Metering Pump. He had it a long time ago... and i dont think he ever used it. It is by Liquid Metronics Inc.

an electromagnetically controlled liquid metering pump. Here is the Link to their website..

The home of LMI Pumps
and it looks like this...

i think this is for what Heinz calls Balling... but im not dure i cant find any literature on it. My dad had it and never used it, it was still in the box, tubeing, and a couple of attachment couplers. i emailed the company to see if they coule find some info in it for me.... cause i couldnt .

anyways, they seem like they have some seriously nice products..controllers and pumps.. everything really. so hopefully i just got a seriously nice pump, for free..and hopefully its something i can use! :P lol

OH also... My dad had this HUGE piece of dead coral.. its about bigger than a basketball, red, and dead... he said that when he had it in his tank... he had treated for ICH or ICK(not sure which one it is...) in his DT. :P... so he used copper in his tank.. (he did a lot of things wrong with his beutiful 300g0 sad... anyways... this was like... 20 years ago i think...15-20 anyways... do you think the copper is still in the coral? if so, is there a way i can kinda soak it out? i would like to brak it up a bit and use it in my tank... it is REALLLY cool looking... super porous, pretty color! i couldnt fit the whole thing in my tank, it is just too big! so what do you think? any opinions on either of my subjects today?! thanks!

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

Sounds like you are off to a great start.
If you can, put down tile instead of carpet. I have always loved my tile but never more than when we flooded the house with salt water. I can't even imagine trying to get that out of the carpet. With the tile it was just a wet/dry vac, a lot of towels, and a mop.

ok, here is the pump my dad gave me... its a liquid metering pump. i cannot find any info on it, because i think it is an older version... never used, a coupler comes with it. if anyone has any info on it, that would be great! i emailed them for some info, so hopefully they get back to me!

and also, the beginnings of my sump have begun! here is a pic with my cardboard baffles in it!
