Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

well, i am slowlty getting this AC jr hooked up.. pretty cool little toy i have to say! my PH reading in the 90 is at 7.94....

i also found out that my LFS does not use RO/DI water.. just RO... so the PH is like 7.0 or something...???? why would they do that? is it a big deal? i will have my own RO unit here shortly.. i get it for free and its a 6 stage one. cool beans! so i will be able to make my own water for water changes and top offs here shortly.

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

It may or may not be a big deal. Your tests will tell you. They do it because it's cheaper for them.

After you get your unit set up, just keep doing WC's until you've effectively changed out 100% of your water. Oh wait! You're not adding livestock until sometime in June so your NORMAL WC's, which you do EACH and EVERY WEEK will do that anyway.

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

EVERY week?!!!! what??? lol.. ok... ill try to get into that routine! so what percentage do you suggest on the 90? EACH and EVERY week?!! on the 28g i do 5 gallons wich is about 20% water volume. do i need to do 20% on the 90? or more like 10% every week? like.. maybe 10 gallons a week?

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

IF you PROMISE to do a WC EACH and EVERY WEEK, 10% would be perfect. 9g....

And 10% every week is MUCH better for the inhabitants than 20% every two weeks.

ok... question... would a 1/10hp chiller be sufficient for my 90? what about a 1/15hp? im thinking the 15 wouldnt do the job.. but that the 1/10 would work just fine... if sooo what brand would be best.. if not what one should i get? tia!

Excellent! Looks wonderful, Sarah! Don't lights just make the world of difference!

I'm not entirely convinced those are snail trails, though. I detect a definite PATTERN.

Hmmm. Do you notice strange lights around your house at night? I think the Mother Ship is attempting to make CONTACT!
