What's the latest with your light situation? Is MD taking care of you?

well, as i was talking to MD, he was like.. trying to give me excuse and "this could happened" or "this could be why".. i said... i don't want to hear about the excuses or the maybe... i think that, if i buy a brand new lighting fixture from someone, i expect it to work immediately and completely. what excuses do you have for that? whatever... im done.. i just returned it(well haven't shipped it yet...) but i guess i will be looking for a new light AGAIN. where is a GOOD place to buy from. i mean, i thought i chose correctly when picking MD.. but o well.. my luck is not with me with them.

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

I bought my light (the exact one you bought) from Marine and Reef.

I also bought my big sequence pumps from them. I ordered a barracuda and they called and said they were out of them but they would upgrade my order to a hammerhead for no additional cost.

You can trust them.

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

ok, most of the sand is in.. i will probably get the rest in in the next couple days... because i cant see where to put it! LOL... it cleared up a little, then i basted the sand off the rocks a little and pushed some where the sand needed to be, now its cloudy again...

question... should i leave all pumps and power heads off for it to settle? if i do turn them off.. do i leave the skimmer going? or just shut it all down except the heater? thanks...

Hello Sarah,

I would switch on all pumps, likewise the heater. The Skimmer, however, some days off.

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

I would shut down the skimmer but leave the PH's going. I wouldn't drain the water to the sump until the water is cleared though. No sense in making a mess down there too.

In my 450 the water seemed to clear faster with circulation going. I'm assuming it's because the sand in the bottom acts like a filter and pulls the dust/small particles out of the water. Kind of like running water through sand clears out a swimming pool.

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

But wouldn't the particles in the water column damage the impellers? Or are they to fine and settle to fast to do any real damage?

Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

The stuff that makes the water cloudy is REALLY fine stuff. It won't hurt the PH's. All the heavier stuff has already settled.
