here is a picture... this is without the T-5's at the moment.. will adding the T5's make a difference? anyways.. this is just the MH's on... see how the lights are 2 different lights? is that normal?!

never mind the micro bubbles.. i am trying to fix that... not sure how.. but i am. :P i have to seriously throttle back the return pump in order to get NO micro bubbles.. but that also means.. NO flow(well, barely ANY flow) out of the return. :P

Light looks great, but you can really tell the difference between the 14Ks and 10Ks. Unless you ordered them that way it seems to me to be a mistake by the manufacturer.

Oh my. Murphy has certainly been hanging out at your place. Sorry you are having such difficulties. Try putting some LR under where the water comes into the sump. That fixed my micro bubble problem. Another time rotating the skimmer fixed it. (Don't ask why. I have no idea but it worked.) Another idea would be to add more baffles for a bubble trap.
Those lights certainly do look different. Are they marked in some way with the kelvin rating? I would give MD another call.
Hope things start improving.
Almost forgot. I love the scape. Lots of caves for the fishies to hide in.

I would consider asking for a full replacement at Current or MD's expense. It seems like it missed out on the quality inspection and I would be concerned about what else might go wrong. I can't believe they sent you the ballasts and told you to fix it yourself anyway. Faulty T5 ballasts, faulty LEDs, mismatched bulbs, it sounds like it came from the Island of Misfit Toys...

The 'scaping does look fantastic, I can't wait to see some critters hanging out in those caves!

I agree with Mark. I would call MD and say enough is enough. Send me a replacement light! And send a prepaid box to send this one back in. Whats really interesting is Current USA doesn't sell their light fixtures with 14k bulbs. It's not an option.

my husband said he will call tomorrow....he is pretty good at getting what he wants.. im not as nice about it, he has more tact than i do when it comes to this stuff. yeah this has been quite a ride with MD... i probably wont be ordering from them again..hate to say it, but just too many problems!!! i didn't expect that! anyways, thanks for the support.. seriously i didn't even think about it...but that is pretty ballsy... we think they may have sold us a returned item, or refurbished...and then to have me fix my own ballasts.. ok.... great! thats just asking for more problems! ha!!!

as for the scaping! thanks! LOLOL.. honestly its still growing on me! LOL... i had something completely different in mind, but that didn't work out and the rocks kept falling, so i just made it so it was stable. LOL... i thought i could get it stable and still look the way i wanted it too but it wouldn't work. o well. this is pretty cool. i tried giving it a little depth too by add rocks that jut out from the back.

well, tomorrow, i will be doing the electrical part.. well not so electrical, but hooking up the ACjr and mounting it and the dc8 and the other power strip i have. soo wish me luck!

I'm honestly shocked at your experience with MD. I never heard a bad thing about them before. I agree with you, it sounds like someone tinkered with one and then returned it to them. They turned around and sold it to you. I wonder if you could simply return it and get a refund...
