update... my Neptune AquaController arrived! yippee!!! LOL.. as well as my other powerhead.. Koralia 4. and 2 test kits.

i just ordered my dry sand.. got the Aragasnow...got 120 pounds of it.. then i will go to my LFS and get 2 bags of live sand. so i will have a total of 160 pounds of sand. also ordered my lights.. changed my mind again.. went with the Outer orbit 2x250w metal halides with 18 lunar lights and 4x54 w T5's also bought all new test kits...salifert and a couple Elos... as well as my serial port connector for the ACjr and a GFCI. dam i cant wait for my tank to get here so i can hook all this up!

oh good!! i could not find a review on this light... but figured it was the best of all worlds.. and pretty good price too... if i wanted to, can i change out the halides(they are 10K's right now) for say.. a geismann 13K or a hamilton 14K? is is ok to do that? like fitting wise, power wise...

the sand... this is the link i ordered it from.. there isnt a picture.. so ill give you both links.. the first link is where i ordered mine from.. and i did 2 different orders... 60 pounds each shipment.. otherwise i was looking at 80 bucks in shipping (i ordered 4 , 30pound bags)(and did 2 orders of 2) shipping was 20 bucks eack so i saved 40 bucks by splitting the shipments. ok BACK to the subject!

now the tank... hmmm... he ordered it friday and he said it would be 2 weeks...so approximately the 21st uh... i want to set this up!!! im being VERY patient.. but i have my live rock sitting in my tank that is half full with flow and heat lol... and im scared its not going to have the right effect i want to cycle my tank... it will have been sitting in my tank over a month by the time my tank gets here... will the rock have cured by then? i was hoping to have this live rock to be the starter of my cycle... ah well.... see im a rambler!

Sarah, I ordered the Tropic Eden sand from the same place on Feb 22nd, and have not received the order yet. I inquired via email on March 3rd about my order and received a reply saying they were expecting a shipment "any day" and that my order would ship the same day they received their order. After reading your post I emailed them again. I'll let you know what I hear!

Your new light sounds super! I hope your tank is in soon, too!

Sarah, with the rock in the other tank for a month, you will be getting a lot of the die-off out of the way. I don't think the cycle would be much different whether its in that tank or the other one. You will have a mini-cycle when you put it in the new DT, but the worst part of the cycle will probably be over with and you shouldn't have to wait nearly as long.

I already heard back from Jamie at Addictive Aquatics. He/she (not sure!) said their shipment is in customs and they are waiting for it to be released. This sand is imported from Germany. He/she said they had already placed another larger order because they have a lot of orders placed. I emailed back to ask if my order is in the shipment in customs, and It

said YES, my bags are in customs.

You may want to email to ask how long for shipping.
