Re: Althea's 90 Gallon.....

I'm going to guess that it's the Quiet One 5000.

Pentair Aquatics

Looks like at 4 feet you'll get about 1,000 gph from this pump.

I'm looking forward to your progress.. can we have some pictures when all your rock is in your tank? I'm probably going to be going with a mixture of rock like you have so I'm real curious to see how it all looks together!

Have you cured your LR in a separate tank ahead of time, or are you going to cure it in display tank?

hi barb!

i am putting everything to cure and cycle right in the display.there is nothing in it and there will be nothing but rock, sand and water in it for at least 3 months. after may i will probable start putting my coral in! the tonga fusion is really cool, and the Lalo rock was even better in my opinion! so i love what i got! cant wait to see the marco rock tomorrow! yay! lol

I think that's the way I'm going to go, too, since my tank will be the same as yours... nothing but rock, sand and water! I'm also going to let it sit for three months. What kind of corals are you planning on? I'm planning on an SPS dominated tank with some clams, the usual cuc, and just a few fish. I know I want a pair of clowns, and I have a vague list of other fish but that keeps changing.

I have some Marco shelf rock, and it is really porous and light. I'm expecting a shipment of the regular "Marco Rock" sometime this week.. maybe mine will come tomorrow, too! I'm expecting it will be just as cool as the shelf is. I'm anxious to hear what you think of it. The closer it gets to me actually setting up the more impatient I'm feeling! It's fun to watch your progress because your tank plan seems very similar to mine... I can live vicariously through your setup!

Great thread - I had a great time reading through it and will be following along!! Loved that you took the chance on making your own rock!! Looked like fun even if it didn't turn out quite right!

your tank does sound a lot like what i want! LOL...yeah sps dominated, with a bit of lps and softies here and there... a clam or 2 for sure! pics for sure to come... my water has cleared (the little bit i have...) tomorrow i will siphon off the stuff that already came off the rocks and has settled, then add the rest of the water and rocks...with room for my sand, then add whatever water i will need after that. my skimmer looks awesome! the cup is huge, cant wait to see it running!
