Thanx HMA. I built a stand for the skimmer and I'm finishing up the wainscot cover for the stand (ran out of wood). I can't decide between magnets and velcro to connect the covering to the stand. The entire front panel will be removable. I will post pics later.

Re: The Rebirth of the 100

Pic of stand and canopy and skimmer on its stand. This setup will be exact in the house; with the skimmer offset from the tank. I will build a box that I will cover with wainscot to mimic the stand that will be used to hide the skimmer on one side of the tank and a 10 gal glass tank for top off on the other. I will also reconfigure the sump/fuge to add size to the fuge since the skimmer is running external. I will however leave enough space to house the calc reactor in the sump as well.

Closer up:

Lol....I thought to offer but I figured you had your mind made up. How's everything going by the way have you begun the new setup yet?

Re: The Rebirth of the 100

stand and canopy coming in about a week or so. it will be made out of walnut with a dark stain. always wanted a stand made of walnut, never though i could afford it. but check this out, the stand and canopy only cost me $701.00. he even had to do a costum job on the doors. i wanted 3 big doors, normally he makes them with 2 mid size doors. holding off on everything else till i get it. my poor wrasse has to share that 30gal QT with that canary till this gets going--its going to be like a 4 month QT-i did that to my tang in that old 20gal too, i think stunted his growth, hehehe.

Re: The Rebirth of the 100

Figured I better post some updated pics as to avoid displeasure in the length of time that it is taking to finish the tank.....lol

Side panel installed and stained:

Canopy:

And for giggles I ran out of clamps so I improvised:

I'm using a cherry wood stain by Minwax. A 3 inch molding strip will be used to finish of the canopy and stand

Re: The Rebirth of the 100

Once the tank completes the cycle I will transfer the MH from the 29 gallon and replace the other MH that I damaged not being careful. The ETSS is still powered off as I'm not sure if I should run the skimmer during the cycle.
