Re: Terry's 120g money pit

If anyone would like a copy of the source code, PM me your email address and I'll be happy to send it to you. It's going to take me another month or so to get it fully functional though. Then I can add in the fun stuff.

Re: Terry's 120g money pit

Sounds fairly straight forward. Is everything "Wired" or are you intergrating some wireless into the system?

Re: Terry's 120g money pit

I'm planning on having everything wired in. I have a huge sump/fuge in the basement that makes a perfect place for the probes. The only thing that could be wireless, I believe, would be the ethernet connection which could be connected to a wireless hub. The only long running wires I'll need to run are the power wires for the lights and the one pump at the predator tank. I have the basement ceiling already opened up from running the pipes so that will be easy.

And now for the tease...

I just got back from Mr. Coral and we picked out some very nice pieces and they are acclimating now. Pictures later.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Victor, I'm really surprised that someone at RS actually wants to see pictures!

Thank JoJo. I really have a lot of fun figuring out these things.

What's really surprising is when my ideas actually WORK!

Re: Terry's 120g money pit

Thanks Heinz. The camera stopped before Ghost Eel ate though. It was interesting though to watch the snowflake chasing everyone else around. He really attacks the feeding stick. I guess he was chasing everyone else away so he could get the food. He ate FOUR good sized silversides. Ghost ate a BIG silverside too. After this feeding, we started moving some more LR into this tank. I have 90 lbs in my old 55g cycling and the tests have been good for about a week now so tonight, we moved one of the bigger pieces into the predator tank.

Re: Terry's 120g money pit

New mandarin (Jacob, named by our 6 yr old girl ) has found a hiding spot under a rock BUT he is by the edge of the glass so, with the help of a flashlight, I can see him and check on him. I'm hoping that in a few days he comes out and makes himself right at home.

The foxface in the predator tank, surprisingly, doesn't take any grief from anyone. I've seen him chasing the clown trigger around. Picasso is forever swimming, up and down, looking for food and leaves everyone alone.

It's really funny but one of the rocks we moved over was one of the bigger ones. I was watching snowflake exploring each and every inch of that rock looking for a hole to crawl into. He was even grabbing hold of pieces of it that are blocking a hole and trying to rip the piece off of the rock. He would wrap his tail around another rock in order to get better leverage.

Fascinating creatures, for sure!
