They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Re: Terry's 120g money pit

Well, the seal for the barracuda and new hammer head pump came today. I tore the barracuda apart, replaced the seal, and broke the new seal.

Fortunately, the hammer head and the barracuda use the exact same impeller housing so I was able to connect the hammer head to the piece of the barracuda impeller housing that was still attached to the pipes. Then I opened the ball valves to flood the hammer head, no leaks, plugged it in, still no leaks, ran upstairs to close the throttle ball valve a bit, and the reef is back online with the sump.

WOO HOO!!!

I DID order ANOTHER barracuda for backup though. I figure I can use it to back up the hammer head on the closed loop too if I need too. I don't want to take any tank offline from the sump like that for 3 days again.

Everything in the reef looks completely unaffected by everything though.

Are you sure we aren't related and just seperated at birth or something?

Re: Terry's 120g money pit

Could be Greg...

Oh well, Reef Flo is sending me a new seal for it anyway. I know what I did wrong, I know I had the seal in right the first time, I just didn't tighten the bolts for the impeller housing correctly. (need to tighten in a star pattern).

Craig, lights are out now and everything really gets upset for a little bit when the pump comes back on. It really ruffles the water and generates a lot of turbulance until the water movement catches up with the flow.

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow before we head up to Pennsylvania to go snow tubing.

Have fun at Seven Springs. Hidden Valley is just up the road if you want a change of scenery!

Re: Terry's 120g money pit

We actually go to which ever one I can get a room at. Both are equally nice, but Seven Springs does have more to do. They have a bowling ally, tons of resturants, etc. I think this weekend, there are 4 people doing their competition runs to advance to the next level of tryouts for the olympics too.

SA!!!

Scott, we only go up once a year and it's only to one of these places. It's a lot of fun but I feel like I need to sleep for three days after this trip. All the kids wear me out!

THAT's what the wood is! Thanks Frankie! We couldn't figure it out.

Here are some updated pics of our reef.

There are pics of our anemone in the anemone club forum. It had split last night.
