| Watch this Ma! | Re: Terry's 120g money pit I agree Scott, I love the 14k lights. The anem, being an RBTA, has the right to move where ever it wants. ![]() He has decided to hang out in the back of that tunnel for a few days to a week. Every few days to a week he moves from front to back, and back to front again.

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Terry's 120g money pit So funny about your RBTA! Guess it has a right to change its mind once in a while! Like the new lights. I have 14k's sitting on the shelf waiting for an install. What brand type are yours?

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Terry's 120g money pit I bought the Current USA bulbs, just to be on the safe side since my fixture is also Current USA. First time I've changed the bulbs and I'm thrilled with how easy it was.

| Golden Moray | Re: Terry's 120g money pit yea, i also like the new lights, for some reason it makes the tank look calmer. thats cool how your anemone moves, does it harm the mushrooms or other corals in its travel to the other side?

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Terry's 120g money pit The anem has it's foot planted into a crevice inside this large cave. It hasn't actually moved it's foot, it just changes the direction that it extends out. Either towards the front or towards the back. The picture with the anem fully expanded in the front, it's foot was easily 14" away, back in the crevice inside the cave.

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Terry's 120g money pit The greens, in particular, really do floresc under the 14k bulbs. Not to mention, I can sit in that room without sunglasses on now. ![]()

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Terry's 120g money pit I found a faily inexpensive source for ion selective electrodes that I'll be able to hook into my controller. Daigger: : Daigger® Ion Selective Electrodes They are working on a better price for me but the prices listed are already pretty good. The gel filled ones have a life expentancy of 1 year but he said most people get at least two years out of them. The gel filled ones are pretty much "set it up and forget it" as far as maintenance is concerned. The refillable ones do last longer but once a month you'd have to add electrolites to it. Not a big deal of course, but consider how much you spend on calcium test kits over the course of two years, I think these things are faily competitive as far as price. With the electrode, I'll be able to glance at the monitor and see what my calcium is at. I'll also be able to control my B-Ionic doser to keep the calcium at a constant level. I'm also going to get the nitrate monitor. I'll use the readings from it to influence when the automatic water changes occur.
