I really like them all but the Sun. It's too BIG to be realistic, imo.

They DO add some very nice color to that tank though. Now we just need to find 30" wide background wrap for the back.

Oh yeah, I see I also need to paint the wall where I ran a new wire and outlet to the GFCI breaker.

Terry, what colour background and how long? I think my LFS carries 30".

We're thinking of black or very dark blue. The tank is 48" wide so at least 48".

I'm going to stop at the local LFS tomorrow because we need two more tubs of krill and silversides. Probably pick up some squid and a couple other things to give these big boys a treat. They seem to be getting cranky.

That and it's getting close time to move the grouper over to this tank so I want everyone else well fed before dropping him in there.

Terry, have you ever tried a DIY backing like I have? I used 2" thick styrofoam and a heat gun and paint. Create pits and holes in the foam with the heatgun or torch and then spraypaint with fusion or brush with acrylic paint. I've got more info if you want it. It looks great!

Man Greg, I just read this and I had stopped at the LFS on my way home and picked up more silversides, krill, and a couple other treats. They had backing there so I bought 4' of the black backing. We just finished putting it on. Tank looks SO much better. Of course, now the dirt REALLY stands out.

I didn't realize how badly the glass needed cleaned until now...

I'm just too tired to clean the glass tonight. And it's REALLY unfortunate that it looks like we'll have to take the backing back off because the outside of the back glass needs cleaned. We didn't think of that when we taped it on, but it is just taped on so it won't be too bad.

Well, my tanks went a whole day with my computer controlling things and everything worked great! WOO HOO!!!

Blue moonlights on all night, off at 8 am. T5's on at 8 am. MH1 on at 9 am. MH2 on at 9:30 am. MH1 off at 5 pm. MH2 off at 5:30 pm. T5's off at 8 pm. Blue moonlight back on at 8 pm.

I setup the moonlights to kind of follow a lunar cycle. I calculate the week of the year and divide by 4. If the remainder is zero, no moonlights. If it's 1 or 3, blue moonlights. If it's 2, white moonlights. Kind of simulates the lunar cycle..

Week one = no moonlights
week two = blue moonlights (not very bright)
week three = white moonlights (pretty bright)
week four = blue moonlights
week five = no moonlights

Terry, glad you found the background. My LFS was out of it today. Not to mention they didn't have squat for livestock either. What a wasted trip.
