A good skimmer will last longer than makeup, clothes, shoes, etc. Sounds like you made the right decision.

I don't suppose you'd want to have a talk with my wife, would you?

Hello Sarah,

do you have the Skimmer already in operation?

If so, how is the water level from the lower edge of the Skimmer to the water surface?

The maximum water level is marked in the picture.

You must open the air adjustment screw until the foam level rises to the lower edge of the skimmer cup. That's it.

Sometimes it can happen that a new skimmer needs some hours, other still some days, to work properly.

Re: Althea's 28g Nano

hey sarah,

mine is working perfectly. i actually set it in the chamber then put the cup in and then raised the skimmer box until the cup sat and sealed on the box. its a little lower than the rec. water level but its working like a dream... im working on my custom cup this week and hopefully it will fit BETTER. if it does ill let you know.

you may have to suspend the skimmer box up to get the cup to sit right. i had mine suspended by zip tying the airscrew to the side of our tank..
recently i added some carbon media below the skimmer and it rest on that now.

ill post some pics later today of it. maybe it will help.

*edited*
if you check out that link i gave you in the pm earlier jason has his propped up by the airscrew in the same position i was trying to describe. after that you just turn the screw until you can see the bubbles at the bottom of the collection cup.

sorry about your problem.. i feel bad.

Re: Althea's 28g Nano

ok, this is the problem... i have to lower the box too far down the bck middle chamber in order for it to get to the water level line. and what i mean by having to lower it too fAR.. is it goes below the ledge of the tank.. there fore the collection cup does not sit flush on the box.... and if i raise the box to where the cup CAN sit flush, the water is no where near where it should be so it doesnt work at all. so... what we are going to do is diy and extension to the collection cups tube and see if that works....

Cavinca... does your cup(the tube part... sit snugly in there or is there a lot of wiggle room? cause mine is really loose... im going to look into make it snug.. it just doesnt seem like it should be that loose, doesnt feel like there is any suction to me.... well we shall see this weekend. we didnt cut the magnet off, we cut the left baffle down a ways and the magnet rests on top of the baffle, so it holds it in place. so we cut the baffle and cut out a piece in the hood and it fits.. but the skimmer cup doesnt.. so i have to figure out a modification for that. thanks everyone....
