Re: BigAl's 10g . . .

Buggz = Sea Hare

He was sort of being "Pimped Out" to other local reef tanks. So he wasn't really "Destined" to the 10g exclusively!

Re: BigAl's 10g . . .

It didn't "Smell" last night but this morning may be a whole other story. If it's still "lifeless" when I run home I'm yank-em out to be safe. That's where a 10g is touchy... doesn't take much to toss the balance out the window.

Thanks everyone

Re: BigAl's 10g . . .

Puffers, sea hares, anemones, yikes they can all be dicy. And you're exactly right Al, with less than 10 net gallons things can go south in a hurry.

Re: BigAl's 10g . . .

I'll have to fashion a "Sea Hare Keeper Outer" system before I add another one.

Morgan over at The Reef Gardener has some smaller Sea Hares in stock. Once it gets warmer ( it's currently here now) I'll coordinate and have one shipped to me. Gotta have it "Buggz-proof" before then.

Re: BigAl's 10g . . .

**Update**

Today 1/22/2008 is the One Year anniversary to my 10g tank and the START of my addiction with Salt Water. I started out with FO then moved to FOWLR and of course somehow it became a full blown Mini-Reef. Today it's flourishing like crazy (a little TO well at times) and I'm glad to say the hobby is finally starting to pay back into itself. This tank has grown some very nice corals and I started fragging a little over 2 months ago. It's not a full blown "Frag-Tank" yet but it will be soon. The LFS started selling some of my frags last week and it's time to give him some more.

I have to say that a LARGE part of my success is due to the amazing members.. no FAMILY here at Reef Sanctuary!

Thanks to you all for helping a Newbie with a micro tank learn the ropes. It means a LOT to me!

Happy Anniversary to ME

Re: BigAl's 10g . . .

Jason, I'll all about getting some frags to you but the shipping aspect is less than desirable right now. All shipping of live goods to and from Me is on hold until we get totally out of this cold snap. It's just now 27 here and it's raining ICE. Not very conducive to successful reef shipping. What I am fragging now is Xenia... both Elongia and Pink Pom. I hear how neither of these are "good shippers" but I'm working with a friend from the West Coast on some different shipping ideas. Once we have them ironed out I'd be willing to hook you up with some Xenia if you want some.

Thanks for reading and your kind words.

Yep, I understand that AL, it's the same here. Spring time would be the best we will play it by ear.

now THAT's a hoot!

Yeah I think yours has mine by a little maturity over mine. This is the actual DAY I got water, salt and sand into mine. The irony is it's only 4 DAYS until I added the first LIVE Stock! Yeah I've learned a thing or two over the last year

Thanks buddy
