It's ALL gotta go!! Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change. Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian) This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%. | Do I look as lost as I am ![]() | Re: BigAl's 10g . . . Yeah it's THAT blurry! Well it's a Purple Lobster but never heard it called "Ornamental" before. LFS had it labeled as "Purple Hairy Lobster". It's the one "Critter" that was in my 10g from the beginning. Not sure how it's survived this long but I've had him for about 16 months now. ![]()

Stace yeah I've had it 16 months and it molts about every 3 weeks or so. I don't know what the SIZE potential is but remember it's in a 10g tank. He's easily DOUBLE what he was initially but still not huge. Initially it was kind shy and hard to spot. Now the moment it smells the Mysis hitting the top of the water he comes out looking for something to grab. If I am hesitant with "squirting" the shrimp he literally attacks the feeding tube and starts pinching, pulling and trying to get it back into his "Lair". Now he's learned to reach up into the tube and try to pull them out. I would HATE to have my hand in there moving rock around when he's hungry. It feels fairly "Strong" when it grabs the feeding tube One reason why you've missed it is that I haven't been very good about updates!! This is where Julie and I started our SW adventure so it has a lot of history for us. ![]() Kathy NO licking your lips!!

| Golden Moray | Re: BigAl's 10g . . . Al, I bet their clamp abilities are pretty strong! I think they are very neat though. I believe (don't hold me to this at all) but I believe the Purples are the smallest of the lobsters, may only be a few inches smaller, but I remember that not only their color, but them staying a little bit smaller attracted me to them. I believe the get to 8 inches? I could be WAYYY off, I haven't looked them up in probably a year or so.
