Well congrats on keeping both tanks. This way you can keep some of the less reef safe fish too.

Re: DrHank's 155 Gallon Bowfront

Yea, my wife wants a large angelfish, a trigger, and maybe a puffer. None of which are good reef candidates. I think that if I want my tank, she gets her tank may also apply.

Sounds like my wife, she wants a puffer because she loves how they always follow her from one end of the tank to the other in fish stores. She likes interactive fish. I have NO problem with getting another tank if she really wants one Don't you just love when the wife wants more fish.

Absolutely the best. Wouldn't you love to get into an argument like "You got your fish, why can't I get one too?" That's one that you just don't hear all the time.

Re: DrHank's 155 Gallon Bowfront

Yea, the only thing that seems to slow it down is "We have to wait till we have a little more money." Just think of what our tanks might look like if we had an unlimited supply of cash to put into them!

That's what kind of happened with me and my husband. We started with a 55 gal impulse purchase (his impulse). He's more like your wife...he wants the "cool" looking fish. He doesn't have time to research them or how they interact with other fish or corals so when he decided that the 55 gal was too small, he gave everything to me that I put in a 47 high. He just bought a 180 gal that we'll get set up in the next month or so...I just can't wait to give him his fish back. They're way too big for my tank...not to mention the evil monster starfish. The trick will be catching them all. But it's a LOT more peaceful with our separate tanks.

Re: DrHank's 155 Gallon Bowfront

The 180 is a fantastic tank. I hope that he's aware of the fact that none of the equipment he got for the 55 will work on the 180. The 55 would make a good sump for the 180. Slow is the way to go. As Lynn would say "The faster you go, the harder you crash."
