| Bryozoan | Northbay 210 As promised, here is the Chronicle of my sps tank. My system consist of 3 tanks inner connected through a single sump. The main tank is 210 gal all glass 72"x24"x30" tall All of the filtration systems for this tank is located in the garage (this was the best thing that I've done for this set up since it made everything so much easier) I drilled through my flooring and plumb everything to the garage about 25' away. I will get to the filtration system latter. The lighting for the system consist of 3 250 watt metal halide with Icecap ballasts luminarc III mini reflector and 2 VHO actinics by URI powered by Icecap ballast. I've tried all other combinations of lights but this is by far my favorit. A controller (ACjr) is used to controll the lighitng, dawn to dusk, fans, pumps, chiller and heaters. moon lights is also simmulated according to my GPS location. Water movement is provided by 2 tunze 6100 on tunze controllers and 2 sureflow maxijet mod kits that switches side after every 6 hours for high tide and low tide effect. The hood and cabinet is custom made by me mainly for easy access. I didn't get too fancy here because the main focus is the tank.

| Bryozoan | Re: Northbay 210 The filtration system: As I mentioed above, all the filtration is in the garage. The sump is a DIY made out of acrylic, it can hold about 40 gal and has to buble traps baffles and such because I want the maximum amount of space. I built a separate box for the filter sock and carbon compartment so their is no bubles exiting this filter sock box. It is modular so it can be removed and clean easily. The skimmer is a ASM G3 with an Ozone generator. I've found that the ozone really makes the water crystal clear and no yellow tint in the water at all. Their is also a DIY phosban reactor that I use for running phospahte removal meadia(I prefered phosphate sponge because it doesn't yellow up the water like phosban does). A genx 40 pump is used to return water back to the main tank. above the sump is a 30 gal frag tank, and above the frag tank their is a 90 gal refugium and the water is fed by another small genx pump that send the water from the sump to the fuge and then overflow to the frag tank and then overflow back down to the sump. The fuge is lighted by 2 48" T5 that is reverse photo period to the main system. The frag tank is also on reverse photo. Calcium is provided by a DIY calcium reactor, and the top off system is consited of a fresh RO water reservior gravity feed to the DIY kalk reactor and into the float valve and into the sump. Food is dispensed via an auto feeder of formular 1 and 2 pellets twice a day. The water reservoir can sustain the tank for two weeks so I can go on vacation once in a while. Cooling is done by a 1/3 hourse chiller inline with the main pump. I think thats about it ![]()

| Bryozoan | Re: Northbay 210 7% Water change is done once every 2 weeks DIY two parts is used for making adjustment and magnesium is provided by adding 10% of dolomite to the calcium reactor. Water change can be done quickly since I have another 55 gal tank full of make up water ready in the garage that is plumbed to the sump so all I have to do is turn the gate valve to add new water after I drain out enough old tank water from the system.
