Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

Yesterday was the take downI put the fish Live rock & Anenomes as well as the rest of the inverts in a large trash can with a Powerhead 1 - Fluval 404 & a heater.

Today I am going to plumb the new tank, Sump, Skimmer, UV, Pumps. I am also going to remove the old lights from the canopy & prepare to mount the Solaris in the canopy. That is unless I can get them to change thier minds & go topless.

Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

Well do to unforseen circumstances today I only got the tank set & the drain & retruns plumbed. I had planned on using the plumbing that was made for the tank however the stand was to short so I went back to the drawing board & let the magic hands do the work. Tomorrow I will test for leaks & fill the tank.

Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

OK well today was leak test day damn bulkeheads I hate the cheap ones. Lesoon learned today for the final time repeat after me "I will never use cheap bulkheads again". Lucky there was only about 1/2 gallon of water in the OF. Drained it replaced it with a really good bulkhead filled the tank. Then I realized the pump was to big I thought wait a minute MAG24 125 Gallon tank Dual OF. But no dice the tank cant drain fast enough I used 1" Plumbing all the way so the MAG 24 is running @ top speed & the overflows can keep up. Tomorrow I will change out the pump for a MAG18. Skimmer is running perfect.

I need to install the UV & the solaris tomorrow.

BTW for those that have ordered the new Vortec you should have them already or by Monday

Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

OK well today I almost finished I ran out of time again. The Skimmer is skimming perfectly. The MAG18 works great not to strong not to weak just right. 25 Watt Gamma UV Running Perfect. Set LED in Place & made the connections & Murphy struck again one bad Power Supply. Luckily I had 3 spares @ the shop. But I had to stop for the day. I took Pictures of the plumbing in place & A FTS (No Lights). I am going to finish tomorrow mounting the LED in the canopy & mounting all the Surge Protectors up off the ground.

Next Will be the install of the Vortec W Pumps & Controllers. They ask me about battery Backup So there might be more to this Clients tank sooner than I thought.

BTW the stand & canopy were Custom Built by a friend of Mine & Whitewashed to match thier Office Wall / Book Case.
