Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

Here is todays progress

The Platform

Block Work

Tank on Platform I think I should have waited for bigger help Vici & my son on one end & me on the other was a lot of work for me

Plumbing Parts

Big Bulk Heads 1.5"

I also took the old Plumbing out from the 175 Bow front & the sump to make use of them tomorrow. Plumbing will be fun a Oceans Motion 4 Way that has to feed 6 holes. The Flow will be from a Sequence Dart 3600GPH. Should be a challenge.

Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

Where do you get your bulkheads from?
I can only find 2" outside diameter ones, but the inside is 1".

They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

I bought 2" bulkheads at True Value Hardware yesterday. SUPER heavy duty but they require a bigger hole than a standard 2" bulkhead. I sleep better at night now though. They had all sizes of bulkheads too. All the way up to 4".

Sheesh, Jack that looks like a huge job! Especially for such an old guy.

The new setup looks like it'll be sweet though!

Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

Well today we had to make some changes to the plan Vicki opted to remove the 4 Way because of hieght restrictions. I also ran out of the 1" Pipe I had used on the 175 Bow front recycling pipe & parts as much as possible.

Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

Is that a small piece of black flex PVC between the pump and the rest of the plumbing? Do you do that to absorb the vibration from the pump so it's not weakening the PVC?

Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

You hit it on the nose. With bigger pumps I tend to try to make @ least one section flexable for that reason larger pumps tend to vibrate more

Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

Now for the million dollar question. Would the gasket and connectors of a unionized ball valve do that? Or would you recommend still using a piece of the flex also?

Re: Chronicles of my Clients Tanks

I would still recommend the flex one other nice thing about flex if there is the slightest bit of differnece between floor levels plumbing being perfect no stress on the lines
