Re: 240

You are right Barb, Michael and Megan are in the Florida Keys having a good time. They left last weekend.

Michael, hope you had a great time and saw a lot of good stuff! You are probably sunburnt and tired, but let us know as soon as you get back!

Re: 240

Hey everyone. Sorry I have been gone so long.
We stayed at a Historic Key West Inn, so that meant NO INTERNET!!!!!
We had a good time. No Diving tho. It was very windy, and there was so much sediment in the water column, that visibility was down to like three feet.
I caught the biggest fish have ever caught though. I cuaght a 8'6" 250lb. Nurse Shark. I hooked it right on the pier at Higgs beach. I fought it for 2.5 hours on 20 pound test line. I beached it, took pictures and then walked it back into wast deep water and let her go.

Megan also fought a 12 foot nurse shark for 1.5 hours on an ultra-light rod and reel with 4 pound test line. It was amazing. She had like 60 people watching her.

Well, my tank is in the cycling process still. My water parameters all in check but I have some film algea. I have been keeping the solaris off, since the tank is getting some light from the 100 gallon.
I have found many things comming outta the rock. I have some sort of octo-coral colony. Many BIG copepods, small snails, mussels, and some kinda UFO. I spins around wildly at night in the water colmn, way too fast to get a picture of.

I will get some pics this week, and try to catch up on all I have missed.
I REALLY missed you guys and Gals. I it really good to be back to my RS family.
If I am not on alot this week dont worry, it is hecktic at work right now, and I have TONs of things to do. It is spring, so that means baby Chickens, Spring reef cleaning, and tons of yard work. AHHHH how will I ever get it all finished.

~Michael

PS Ive got pics of Florida. I just need time to upload them.

Re: 240

How cool, Michael! I can't wait to see pics of the shark! And your tank of couse.

You're brave too, walking a shark back out into the water. Something just doesn't make sense to me about being IN the water WITH a shark.

Welcome back!

Re: 240

Morning everyone.
Terry~ By the time I landed the shark it was so tired. I had to push it through the water to get her swimming again. It was not aggressive at all.
