Well. I made a huge decision tonight. I decided that I am not going to add another BSJF to the 240. The main reason is Jose. I worry that If I add him and another it may stress him out. So I made the move. I transfered him to the 240. I was very worried that he wouild freak out. Catching him was easy ans almost stress free for both of us. Since he will swim into my cupped hand, getting him to visit a pretty blue net was easy. Then i acclimated him. After five minutes he was swimming around the tank checking out new places to build a burrow. He hid for about two minutes, then was up at the glass watching Megan and I move over some corals. He is such a little trooper. I figured he would hide for a few days, then come around. But I had forgotten that Jose is the King, and not like most Jawfish. He swam around to the rock columns. He perched on those for a while then got bored, so he explored caves. He really is an amazing fish. I love that little spotted fish

That is an awesome video, and it does show that more then one can be kept togather. But I love how outgoing Jose is. I am afraid that if I add another one to the tank he may be so worried about someone stealing his home that he would never leave it. Jose does not have a small little burrow for a territory, he likes space, and I dont want to take that from him. I would love to (will eventually) have a blue spot jawfish tank. And one of my main reefing goals is to have a sucessfull breeding pair. But Jose is not going to be the little fishy guinea pig.

Did you fall and bump your head? I wouldn't hesitate to add another BS to my 90 if it weren't for my tangs and bloated bioload. Terry is going to take my tangs and foxface, then it's BS twins in the Reeforama!

I just dont know. I dont want anything to go wrong with Jose. I may change my mind after a while but for now Jose will remain the king.

Well I just finished acclimating the new fishies. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!!!
I have NEVER seen a fish with as much color as the Regal Angel. She is already picking Pineapple sponges off the back glass. I am relieved to see that she is not to freaked out. The CBB is already steaking out the tank. I expected both fish to be very reclusive. But they are out and about. Jose has attacked both of them. But they kinda just looked at him like "you are a jawfish, not a hawkfish" He just perches on teh live rock and swoops down on them. He is one peculiar little guy. the angel is biiger than what I ordered, and she is very fat. She really is a great looking specimen. The butterfly, is a very cool fish. I have never seen one in person. They have a totally different swimming pattern than most fish. Well both look very good, and I am happy with the livestock that Blue Zoo Aquatics-Live saltwater Fish, Corals, Invertebrates and Food offers.
I also ordered 20 turbo snails, 20 nerite snails, and 20 cerith snails. They all arrived in good condition. Althought I am used to snails being shipped in water. These were in a bag with wet paper towels, but they held up fine.
The urchin I ordered was in a bag that totally leaked, there was not a drop of water in the bag. But I put him in the tank and he started exploring. I also got a tiny little cleaner shrimp. Over all I am very pleased with bluezooaquatics livestock.
Let hope Jose learns to play nice, and remember he is a Jawfish.

Yep!!!! I will work on that tonight and tommorow. I am going to Speedstreet tonight. But before then I can take pictures. I will try to get them loaded tommorow morning before I head to the beach for a little fishing trip.
I just checked on them again, they are even more curious than before.

Well, Jose amazes me all the time. I walked up to the house to check on the tank. I got right up to the glass, and was looking for Jose. Well he saw me and swam right up to me. I put my finger on the glass and he swam up and put his nose against the glass. I know everyone will say I am full of crap, be he did I swear. It was almost like he was saying dont get to happy with the new fish adn forget about me. It was so cute. When I walked away he followed mw to the end of the tank. I walked out the door, and peeked back in. He swam back to the rock where he was when I walked in. He really is an amazing fish. I know ALL BSJF are awesome, but I dont think there can be a fish with more personality than Jose.

Wait, so you don't want to risk Jose with adding another one. But you add two fish dirtectly to his tank with out QTing them. Mmmm...

No actually I did add two fish without quarantining them. I have never quarantined fish. I know I should. I have no room for another tank. Plus I buy from places that quarantine. Live Aquaria/Bluezoo. If I get a fish that I think looks ill I will not add it to the tank. Plus if you keep water parameter straight, feed well, and have "stress free" fish, they can fight off most problems. i know it is risky, but its how I do it.

When ever I walk up to the tank and can't find Spotty, I gently tap on the glass three times with my finger nail and he pops his head out. I sing, "Ohhh my darlin', tap three times on the ceiling if you want me, twice on the pipes, if the answer is nooooo..."

Jose is special, but they all demonstrate similar behavior.

I can appreciate your extraordinary relationship with Jose, but all fish associate us with food, nothing more.
