| Manta Ray | Re: 240 Well I need help. I have finally decided that Vinyl Tubing SUCKS. I want to rework my tank. I want to take out the current bulkheads(which are slowly leaking) Put in new ones. and Plumb the tank with PVC Piping. Is this a good Idea, or should I rework the Vinyl Tubing? My power hwent out today. I found out that my sump WILL overflow. I need to figure out how to correct that problem. Plus I HATE my Little giant return Pump. It is loud and I think that it is making my water hit. My water temp is consistantly at 83. Hell, my 100 gallon is at 82 with Metal Halides. So I know it has to be the Return pump. WHAT TO DO< AND WHICH PUMP TO USE. NOT red dragon...I dont what to spent $600.00 Thanks Oh Yeah, I got ZAPPED While wiping up water. ![]()

| Acropora | Re: 240 Hi Michael, This is a really good return pump (AquaMedic OR 6500). I would never trust to a leaking connection, renew rather.

![]() As far as pumps, what kind of flow and pressure requirements do you have? Also do you need a submersible or external pump? If you are looking at external, which I highly recommend, you may want to look at the Sequence pump which are super quiet and transfer very little heat to the water. Good price also.

| Torch coral | Re: 240 Mike the Blueline I purchased with the LifeReef is doing great for me. Plus it has enough juice to feed the fuge and three of the LR canisters. The temp on my 180 is well under 80 degrees, as I see the heater lights go on from time to time. I'm not sure how to judge loudness. I'm sure its quieter than a LG though, as I had one of those before. I'd go with PVC once you know you have everything the way you want. I had a bud crack his tank once by simply bumping a PVC pipe connected to his bulk head. I'm sure it was a freak thing, but still pretty scary. PVC get gunky too, you just can't see it ![]() |
