It depends on where you work... you could be a mattress tester! What a job that would be huh? Get better soon. There's something going around and I saw where in South Carolina one hospitol has had 26 confirmed cases of the flu. Make sure you wash your hands!

Well it is full and all teh pumps are running. I am scared.
If you need to turn off the main pump, how do you keep the sump from overflowing?
I will try to get some pictures up later.
I only had one lead, which we fixed. And probably only spilt arounf 10 gallons of water.

But I am VERY NERVOUS about leaving it alone. What it it overflows, or I have a leak, or something bad happens?

Yeah, every time an ant peed when my sump was new I'd run to the tankl and throw open the door.
As for The sump overflowing, just keep the water level lower in it so when the return pump shuts off the water in the overflow and pipe will top it off, not overflow it. As for leaks, Just keep a close eye on it for the first wile.

Congratulations Michael!!

Did you get your sump's water level adjusted? Have you tested it with the return pump(s) off?

Nope I guess I should do that. I will wait until my lil' bro gets home. I dont like messing with stuff like that alone. An extra pair of hands really helps.

Well I found a leak. But I cant fix it. I need my someone to help hold something. I asked my brother and he said I am busy and I have to leave. He was going to his riends house. He couldnt stay and help me for 10 minutes. I HATE HIM
Now I have a leak and no one is here to help. He wont even answer when I call him, and I REALLY NEED HELP.

HI Michael, New tanks/sumps and all that good stuff is nerve racking at 1st. I have a flood alarm that runs along the base of the stand that eases alot of tension, It is a tiny wire with a quarter size piece on the end that will make a beeping sound if it comes in contact with water. Might be a good idea for you to get one incase you are not home and someone else is. Tell them all what pumps to turn off if something happens. I have had a "emergency' session with everybody that lives here.... lol I have a sign on the wall by the outlets that says if Overflowing pull these cords, lol They all think I am nuts but Hey... It beats gallons and gallons of water on the floor doing alot of damage. i also make sure all powerheads , equipment in the tank is far enough under water so if the return pump is shut off they wont be out of water.... I leave all powerheads running in the main tank if the return pump needs to be shut off. Anyway.... The flood alarm ( and yes I did have the tank overflow once) is a great item to have,,, and cheap too.

I got the leak fixed. I sure took long enough though. I had our family friend ellen come over. She was working today at the shop anyway. I sure am glad she way there.

Michael you can drill a 1/16" anti siphon hole in the return near it's highest point. once the water in the display gets below the siph0n it will break the flow and save your sump.

I added the last salt to my tank on sunday. The water is still a little cloudy. Should it be claer by now?
I have never had a tank take this long to clear up. I have added nothing else to it. ~Michael
