With experience gained through 22 major surgeries, and my latest major accident, I can attest that Scott is correctomundo!

Re: 240

Well I am back. My doctor checked me out. after the initial examination she said well it looks like you have a broke bone. So I went to get X-rayed. She came back in and said "I am really suprised, you dont have any visible breaks"
So I really found out nothing, she said that they would have the radiologist look at it, to see if thy missed anything. I am glad its not broken. But I wish It would stop hurting. The pain has gotten twice as bad since this morning.
If all is not well by this weekend I will be making another visit.
Thanks for all the concern
I hope it is better by friday, as I have another skiing trip planned I know, I know I am a gluten for punishment,~Michael

Re: 240

Glad to hear it is not broken.
Sounds like you may have torn some ligaments or tendons though for the pain to be that bad. Hopefully the doc gave you something for the pain and you start to feel better soon.
Glad you finally went to the Dr though. At least you are taking care of it. Now rest and let it heal.

Usually, I'm very good at picking up on the latest lingo, text messaging short cuts and ebonics, but I have to ask-what are you referring to when you say "...I want to polyp it."?

Re: 240

A deep bone bruise can take weeks to heal. I bruised my shin once and it was a six week recovery.

Re: 240

Speaking from experience,... torn ligaments and sprains are WAY more painful than broken bones. ...why is that?

Re: 240

Commercial break for elbow rant!

Are you icing it, Michael, and keeping it elevated? At the very least you need to be taking an anti-inflammatory, unless you are sensitive to them.

You young people! If you choose not to rest it and help it heal now, you'll pay for it later... trust me... old things that happened to me years ago are rearing their ugly heads now, with arthritis in the spine, ankle, , knee, neck... from repeated falls off horses that I basically just "got back on" and kept going! I'm too young at 51 to be dealing with this, so PLEASE take care of yourself now so you don't feel it later on.

If that terrible pain doesn't go away or start to fade soon (next day or two), get back to the doctor (an orthopedist, ideally) to make sure you haven't impinged a nerve or blood vessel. If feeling in your hand starts to go away (numbness or pins and needles sensation) get back there ASAP! because that is an emergency situation.

Okay, back to your wonderful-sounding 240!
