Re: 240

I would love to see some gold banded naroons in someoone's tank, as i'm afraid to put them in mine -- afraid they'd harass Moes 1 and 2 (a. polymnus)

This is them before they got evicted. They were around for 3 yrs. I'd like to say I miss them but then I go over to the house they now live in and enjoy them fact they are gone. They are not bad fish I just don't think sand was meant to be thrown all over the rocks. They also have a habit of moving rocks to wherever they want them. It's usually just the female. The female in the first picture is close to 5 inches now not counting her tail.

The one good thing is that like clockwork every 12 days there were eggs laid all over a rock. I wish I had the time to try and rear at least one batch. Oh well!

Hiding behind the Copperband. They were cute then

She killed this anemone.

And that one. This pit was about 2.5 yrs ago. Notice the sand

There u go, pictures of Maroons in a tank.

Re: 240

I have one maroon now. He is actually very calm. I love him, he does not harm to any other fish, even when I added new fish to the tank, he just checked them out,no problem. But I cant put himin the new tank with my three percs. I think he would murder them.
Now I only have one tang, a blue tang. Hulio my PBT died a few days ago. RIP Hulio.

Anyways my filter sytem will be here next week...I have the proof.
Lifereef Filter Systems

Awesome!!!

Re: 240

For a 240 gallon tank, would two of the Echo-Tech marine powerheads with the wireless wave maker be suitable for circulation?

Re: 240

Michael, how deep is the Tall tank? I've found reaching the bottom of my corner bow (which is deeep) to be a real pain. even with gloves on, i get wet, often water running over the TOP of the glove down inside!

yeah me too!! although it's easier with the 75 now, I can reach the bottom easier.

That lifereef is sweet, totally plumbed out for you already? Do they do it for you or is it pre-set-up?

Re: 240

HI Michael, Congrats on the life reef equipment.. You wont be dissapointed..
Great pictures of your tank. What is the gph on the Echo tech PH? In my 265 I have terrible time with flow. I have 1 tunze 6100 and 3 seio powerheads I believe are 1100 gph... I still seem to have a flow issue.. Not to mention double over flow and pump that moves between 1000-1400 gph. The pumps got to be real good or you will run into the same issues. I dont know much about the PH you mentioned but if you can afford it I would go with a couple Tunze 6100s

Re: 240

Here is the link
EcoTech Marine
They say that they are for tanks 50 to 500 gallons. they produce anywhere from 500 to 3000 gph. They are totally adjustable. Plus they run off of a wireless wavemaker, and I will have them hoked to two battery backups.
What do you think, will in need more than two of these.

Re: 240

two vortechs should be plenty, unless you are planning a barebottom full blown sps... then I would add a few tunzes for random flow around any dead spots.
In my set up I will have two of each but that is because my tank is 36'' wide.
Now that the wireless drivers are out the wave simulation in antisync mode is very nice lemme see if I can find you a linky
