Re: 240

I was thinking three. Awww....Well.

No really, I am having a very hard time making a fish list. i am trying to figure out how many I can keep without having a trate problem. I have the following in my 100 gallon tank: Blue tang, BSJF. True Perc, True Perc, True Perc, Pajamma Cardinal, Pajamma Cardinal, Exquisite Wrasse, Lyre Tail Anthia, Mandarin Dragonet. I have no problems with Nitrates, actually my trates are around 0. the highest I have ever seen the trate level was 2.
Sooo, how many should I be able to handle in this big tank?

Re: 240

Go slowly of course but you should be able to have several fish of your choosing in the 240. As your system matures and stabilizes, you should be able to easily have 1" of adult fish per 4 gallons of water (rough estimate depending on the type of fish)... really more since you will have excellent exporting mechanisms.

Re: 240

You know I will go slow. I plan on adding one to two fish every two months. Should this be ok? All but two of the fish will be small bodied, and I think that all the fish I want will work togather nicely. I think the largest fish I want will be an Achillies tang. I think I may sell my Blue tang. The only other large fish I want is a CBB. Thanks for the help.

Hi Michael, take a look at these link ..... in my eyes, one of the best SPS coral reefs I has ever seen. Ralf is a member in my german forum, he has a list of the fish in his tank on hie website. Maybe you can get there suggestions for the trimming and the number of the possible animals.

BTW his website is in english

Re: 240

its not inches than it is fish volume that effects the total stocking limit.

mhhhhhh ... I know Pemfish, i am not a newby ...... for 8 BSJF in a single tank one needs such a big tank. Every BSJF needs a certain territory.

Re: 240

I was referring to when Mike mentioned a 5:1 rule. I did not factor in territory ( or what you said with the BSJF )
