You'll really like it that tall.

My tank is:

Bottom rim = 47" +/-
Top Rim = 67" +/-
Top of Canopy = 84" +/-

Yes I have already purchased a very nice step stool and have used it to test some of my plumbing and stuff.

It's going to look GREAT buddy!!

Re: 240

Hi every one. Well this week I am going to be under the house. I have to make sure that our 100 year old farm house will hold this monster. My dad said that it should be fine. We just rebuilt the floors in the fish room, but I want to be sure. So im taking the jacks, cinderblocks, 6X6s and a level. I figure with liverock sand and most equipment I will be right at 4000lbs. That is without all of my fat little fish, corals, frag tanks, refugiums, etc. Gah this will be a heavy tank.

Today I will be building my durso stand pipes hopefully. I hope this goes well.

Glasscages.com should be calling me this week, to schedule a pickup for next week. I am so excited.

Also where does everyone get eggcrate. I have to make this an impennetrable fortress. I cant have a crispy jose laing on my floor. I have asked around at several places and they told me to go to a matress store. They obviously did not know what I was talking about. Does the screening block out the light. I have always wondered this.
Thanks for any help.~Michael

Re: 240

I really like their site, and thier prices are pretty reasonable. I have talked to many people who have bought from them. They said that the tanks are real nice. The only thing I dont like is that they are not too negotiable on their delivery sites. They want me to drive 2 hrs to pick up my tank, although they pass right by me on they way there. AW WELL.

Re: 240

Ok I talked to The driver at Glass Cages earlier today. I am picking up my tank Friday. They want me to drive 2.5 hours away to pickup my tank, although I paid to have it delivered. I told the lady that there was no way I was driving that far when I paid to have delivered to charlotte. So she said that they could me me in statesville (one hour away) Its better but my dad is pissed. He said "I will talk to them later, I have leverage" SO I guess he will be caling them later.
But none the less I will have my tank this friday.
Now its time to stain the stand and canopy. I am going to paint it a dark Black/espresso. Then we are going to have is distressed. It will match all of our furniture.
I have to build my durso pipes, and the screen/eggcrate cover.

Now I am really trying to decide what fish I want to keep. I already have several, but I am not sure I want to keep them all.
I know that I want to keep my blue tang, Jose, My three Percs, Royal Gramma, Dragonette, Lyretail Anthia, Bi-Color Blenny. What else should I look at. I know that I have asked this many times, but I like so many things. I would even consider keeping some things thaat are not normally kept in reefs.
I really like some of the pygmy anglers. Would they be ok with my other fish. I particularly worry about Jose.

Re: 240

I just talked to the guy who is going to be Staining/Painting my stand. I think that we are going to make it have distressed look, with an ebony stain. I am so excited.
