Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

Not too much time to post lately, just reading! Busy moving. Just got my internet hooked up at the new place after being down for over a week. So much for seemless integration! Thanks AT&T!

I wasn't talking about you buddy
There are some outsiders keeping an eye on my thread.

I am glad the move is going well John. It's amazing how dependent we become on the internet.

Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

Here's that part number 7548A11 Frankie

Epoxy for Encasing (Potting)

With its low viscosity, thermal expansion, and heat conduction which draws heat away from the part, this two-part epoxy (resin and hardener) is ideal for small electronic castings and for encasing items in adhesive (potting). Epoxy also resists weather, water, vapors, petroleum lubricants, and mild acids and alkalies. Color is black. Temp. range is -40° to +212° F. Thermal conductivity: 7-8 Btu-in./ft.2 -hr.-° F. Ability to withstand electrical voltage without rupture is 520 volts/mil. To dispense, use the applicator gun (sold separately). To mix the adhesive as you dispense, attach a mixer nozzle (sold separately). Full package is 12

You can mix this in a cup, no prob. cures to a very hard plastic. shatters like glass if hit with a hammer. A little expensive, but well worth it! Best two part epoxy I have ever worked with. I used it alot when I worked in electronics, covering PCB components we wanted to keep proprietary.

Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

It's on page 3321.

Mix it slow, to keep air bubbles out.

Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

I see it. Not to much money considering how much this chiller is worth.

Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

Take a piece of sandpaper to the metal to give it something to hold on to and it should work like a charm. I've got a buddy that has an AC biz and he is using it to seal coils in air handlers.
