Thanks for all the words of incuragment everyone. Well, so far buiscuit is holding on. I just got back from the hospital. He has head and chest trama. The abrasions are bad but they will heal in time. They have him on morphine and some other stuff for the pain and are weaning him off of it soon. The rightside legs are in bandages that time release into the skin to help stop the pain. His head trama can go one way or the other its just to soon to tell. There worried about nero damage from blood vessels that might have ruptured. Its to hard to tell right now without a MRI and Dr. Zeifman feels its not time to go that far yet. I trust her alot and will listen closely to what she says. I know in my heart that I have the best doctor in NY and am in the best of hands with this. The other big trouble is the right side lung. It seems on the xray that its got ruptures and might be taking in blood. Dr. Zeifman just called me as im typing this. It seems the area around the lung is filling with air and she wanted permission to insert a syringe to suck out the air and releave the presure allowing the lung to fill better. Whats another $1000 buck? thats my dog were talking about. so now the tec's there are willing to spend the night and keep him on oxegen after the procedure. She told me if it keeps filling with air around the lung that the next step is to move him to a place thats capable of inserting a air vent to keep the air out of that area. There just not set up right to handle that kind of work. (sorry i hope this all make sence, I dont know the proper language to this stuff.) well i need to go relax and wait to hear back from my vet. Sorry if im bringing anyone down with this info. I need to get it out. Its my dog.

A Pneumothorax is cause by blunt trauma to the chest. Placing a chest tube and pulling out air is the right thing to do. I'm happy he's breathing better.

Is he alert or unconscious? If he is alert, does he respond to you?
Just that fact that he is still alive at this point tells me that there is no severe internal bleeding which is good.

Keep us updated on his progress!

Thanks everyone, I will brian and kimmy. Yes Gina, thats just what she did. He's been awake through all this and responds to noises, like the other animals there and cages opening and closing. He seems to rest and close his eyes when I wisper to him and pet him. He wasnt responding to his name when i called him but he was on a lot of drugs last i saw him. Im waiting for the doctor to call me and let me know how he did over night. There closed today but she told me when there done with there sunday rounds that she will call and let me come there for a few hours.
