Other than more water per hour volume and availability for more/multiple drains.
Yes, I like them for the one reason, surface skimming.

I am so impressed with how immaculate you keep everything! Honestly, how do you do it?

And of course the photos are sublime; those clams are amazing!

Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

If you saw how i kept my system in NY you would understand. What a mess that was! We had to move out of state because of it.
My real trick is just worry about the tank and the wife can clean the house
I had to share this moment. Lee had a sleep over last night and Biscuit was not her main focus. Can i say time for make up?

Thanks for all the kind replies everyone

Now that's the best picture of all! A beautiful, tired girl and her beautiful <really SHINY> dog.

You can tell they're both loved!

Oh! And do you have a PICTURE of how you kept things in NY? I don't quite believe you when you say it was a "mess".. that's a relative, subjective term you know! lol

Dang Frankie! That fuge came out AWESOME!!! I agree with others, you're REALLY putting me to shame with how CLEAN and ORGANIZED everything is. STOP IT!!!

I can't get over how HUGE that clam is! And in the 2nd pic, are those Zoas growing around the base of the SPS? They don't hurt each other? I LOVE the look of that.

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

Try to build it in the summer! A trip to the mountains sounds great right about now. My truck is melting into the ground it's so hot out there. I could make a bow front tank just by leaving the acrylic on the hood for a few~
Thanks Allen, I saved some ducks too by using that 75 i was going to toss in the garbage. Like how i made the back blue and the coast to coast blue to match?

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
