there are different lables Victor. you want to use Advantex or Home Depot's brand of Advantex. Same stuff. Accually HD seems a bit more oily.
Huber Advantex, GP Gold-Bond (I Think) are both amazing OSB products with an outstanding warranty!

Good choice buddy but honestly I wouldn't expect anything else

Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

No doubt. Thanks BigAl
All my thinking has changed since moving south. This is a much harsher environment then up north.
I just finish insulating the garage door. I will be installing a AC unit to help drop the tank temp back to 76f. It's been 80f-82f since the sump upgrade. Cyano is starting to rear it's ugly head for the first time also. I have to contribute this to the rise of temp. It is the only change my tank has seen in two years.
I gotta boogie though! Lee's field day is today!

Where do you get to go on the field trip?
I love to go with the kids on their field trips. It is usually a lot of fun.

Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

I'm glad the field day was great!

I think I will have the same temp issues as you. I will install an AC duct there soon.

About the OSB, ... is OSB from Lowes the same as what you have? Are all OSB created equally? I have 3/4 OSB T&G flooring I want to use for the tank shelf and am wondering if it will suffice.

No not all OSB is the same. It needs to state on a label or somewhere that it's capable of handling "moisture" long term. Regular OSB has water soluble glue and will degrade fairly quickly after exposed to moisture. Shop around for Advantec or some other "Premium" OSB. Like mentioned above, it will have some type of LONG warranty. Regular OSB swells up after moisture exposure and is a BEAR to work with.

Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

Sorry i haven't been updating for a spell, work has been dealing out some good hands and i am working hard to keep my 5 guy's going. The heat has been unbearable for the last week or so. I am making sure my guys don't kill them selves.
I have been working on the tank though! I took my old 75 refugium and hacked it up into a new refugium. It is 19 gallons now and a coast to coast. In the picture you see a long pvc return going to it. This will be getting cut back later after i build the frag tank. The frag tank will be sitting next to the new refugium. It will be in this order: UV-frag tank-refugium-return to sump.
Don't let the open panel box scare you like it did my wife my friend who happens to be the greatest electrician is wiring me up a dedicated line for just the tank. Enough talk! here are some pictures! Stay tune, I have more also~

Not the biggest cheato ball but it's a start

Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

Amazing and neat & tidy!
Is there a benefit to the coast to coast overflow?
Other than more water per hour volume and availability for more/multiple drains.

They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Re: Frankie's 120gal. glass experiment

I did not like the look of the Megachromes so i bought 20k Radiums from our sponsor DIYReef.com Reef Aquarium Lighting and Supplies
Debby has been a great help to me over the last month. I highly recommend her site.
Here are some coral growth shots under the new bulbs with no supplementing.
This one was on it's way out due to a fight it had with another coral. I moved it and it's coming back nicely:
