Can't wait to see what you turn it into.
Remember the next time you come up here I have the candy cane for you from Kathy. It is doing great in my tank just waiting for you.
Don't know why those things get in our cars. I have even tried locking my doors, but they somehow manage to get in.

If you had been online earlier I had an inkling to go to HR or somewhere, but you weren't online and I didn't want to disturb you, figured you were spending time with hubby. Tomorrow is out as is the next few weekends. I have some things here for you also that I need to remember to give you. I start therapy again on Monday . I have to get something special for the tank actually 2 something specials...have to get something to name Chris(tine) my cousin who just died this past week and what would have been my anniversary is coming so I have to get something for the tank. Anyway, still kicking around ideas and still have no idea what is going to end up in the tank, besides sharks.

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

This picture is a little late and it should have been posted back toward the beginning, the problem was I couldn't find it because I was moving pictures around trying to work on my other chronicle, but anyway. Introducing my Partner In Crime LYNN! She was with me at HR that day as you all well know and I snapped this picture of her outside the LFS. Gotta have her in here, she was involved too. Is everytime I head up that way. To be honest, it's a good thing we don't live closer to each other. OH BOY! The TROUBLE !!!
This picture was before I fixed the date on my camera, but this is the same day as pod day because this is her husbands car and I followed them from their home to get to the LFS, which was the day I got the pod and that wasn't on the 31st, but it was the only time I have been to her house. Sooooo anyway date has been fixed since then.

[/quote]

So now onto tank news. The shrimp I threw in there has begun a cycle. Previous ammonia readings were 0 and today I have the following:

Ammonia 3.0
Alk 120
PH 7.5
Nitrite 0.5
Nitrate 0
Salinity 1.022

The temperature in this tank is fluctuating at 75.1- 75.5 and it is 71 in the house. There are no warming or chilling devices hooked up to this tank. (No, I do not have the AC on, Florida temp right now is at 67 outside and rising) Beautiful weather, I think a LFS is calling me and Lynn, but some friends are coming today to hook up the RODI unit and oh the 90 gallon delivery has been postponed due to technical difficulties.

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

Whoa Baby, things are happening in the pod, don't know what, but they are happening. The temp without AC on in the house and 79 degrees outside is at a stable 75 in the pod without any lights and top closed.

Ammonia-3.0
Alk- 180
PH 8.0
Trite-3
trate-40

Probably going to buy some more sand today when I have my daughter to carry it so that is going to stir things up quite a bit in there. Wonder what will come out of the new bag of sand this time. The water looks pretty good and clear. Getting a bit excited about putting something in here.

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

LOL I can't believe you posted that pic. I should have taken one while you were climbing into the sump at HR as payback.
We have got to get together soon. I'll come down there this time and see what trouble we can get into. The guys at HR have to be missing both of us though. I have discovered the only way to keep things from jumping in the car is to leave the car at home. Of course that only partially works since we have some very cool on-line sponsors. It isn't as much fun that way though.
I'm very excited/interrested in what this tank turns into. I know it is going to be very cool.

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

LOL That Mustang is hubby's pride and joy.
I just use cars to get from place to place. Don't really care what I drive as long as it doesn't break down.

That is Lynn's husband's car as she already said, if my daughter had been there she would have said, I like him, he's COOL, BUT he drives a Mustang! She would not have said it to him though because she is very well mannered. This is THE car in her opinion and I think you can tell by the shirt she has on what car she is in. If not look at the next picture.

Now anyway, back to the 24..today's water readings are:
Alk - 120
PH- 8.0
Nitrites- 0
Nitrates- 0
Ammonia- 0
The temp without lights is at 73.9 and room temperature is 73. This is with a temperature of at least 51 degrees last night at around midnight and no heat on in house. I am going to take some water to HR to have them tested because I am out of chemicals and this was done with those stupid test strips so I want to make sure that the readings I have are at least do-able. Keep looking for Lynn and she isn't online. Oh no she might miss a trip to HR.

I ordered the skimmer and Korallias from jack and they should be here this week. Another Pre-Christmas present.. I am getting so much now that Santa will pass right over my house and stick his tongue out...Mean ol' Santa....oops I mean Nice Santa....

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

Yeah, most of her t-shirts are centered around cars. You will flip when you hear what she (my daughter) is doing...when she gets out of highschool she will have a vocational certificate in auto repair. At her highschool they have what they call acadamies, which they can enter. They are 3 year programs in which they take all their generals and learn the vocation as well. The program she chose, you have to be selected. Only 60 are accepted so you have to pass testing, interviews, and of course have a decent GPA. Well when she comes out of there she will know how to weld, take an engine apart, put it together,, know what makes a car tick and how to fix it. From there she wants to further her knowledge at UTI. In her spare time she is heavily involved in music. Sings, plays violin, guitar (heavy metal), keyboard, and flute and wants to also do something with that so she has something to always fall back on.

Anyway, back to my thread....I think Santa is really going to just dump charcoal on th ehouse...I don't hink I have much chance for getting anything else.....might as well stuff him in a bag!
