Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

Well, finally the stand arrived today and when I went to the door there was my box propped against the side of the house and damaged...my first thought was oh no, that figures I wait all this time, and there are gouges in the box and rips, certainly hope I don't have to send it back. Got the stand in the house and tore the box apart, taking pictures as I went of course and also had my little helper inspecting. OK, great no problems, nothing is damaged, but am hoping that all the screws, and stuff are there as they were just tossed throughout the box. Also whoever marked the pieces with chalk didn't know what they were doing They have the pieces marked entirely wrong so I am going to have to follow the pictures when putting it together, good thing I am a crafty person. I guess when you pay half price for something this is what you get...right? right. This is temporary anyway, so not an issue. It will serve it's purpose until I move. Anyway here are the pictures so far....

Well, it is time to go and get it together, while I think about what I am going to do with this thing and where I am going to put it. Still have not figured that one out yet...

I think I am one of the few females I know who really enjoy putting that kind of stuff together.

Good luck! (no cursing withing hearing of the cat.)

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

Nope, no cursing here, I am a very patient person. I love doing this kind of thing anyway. In fact I did all the ceramic tile counters in my house and even some of the floors, when I was able to do them. So nope, I love it! If it involves any kind of building, painting, crafting, assembly, or artsy stuff I find it relaxing. Just wish my hands would co-operate like they used to and I have to try, otherwise they won't get better, I just pay for it later. They will get better, eventually they will. Anyway, onward...

The stand is together now. There were several breaks here and there...the first break was when I stepped on my glasses... OK, I have to use them for reading and when they aren't on top of my head they just kind of land where ever, so I had to run to the drug store and get some little screws because that is what I broke, the screw on the corner and the lens was falling out. After that run, I had to go to the grocery store, come home, cook, eat, clean up the kitchen, and then get down to stand building. The stand is now together and waiting for me to decide where I am going to put it. So many decisions, I tell ya!

Anyway, here is completed stand...and of course the helpers have to inspect it all..

Did you figure out where to put it yet? Any activity? I am most curious to see what you end up putting in it.

That would be loads of fun.
I haven't been to an lfs in a week now and that wasn't my usual one. My local place is used to seeing me a couple of times a week but money is tight ATM and if I go I will spend. Of course since the new RO/DI isn't connected yet I do have to go get water today. Cat do you need to visit HR?
Vicki whenever I get back to your side of the country I will be sure to let you know. We could have lots of fun. Maybe Jack would even let me pet one of the sharks.

Oh yeah, we would definitely get into trouble if we three were closer. My addiction is so dog gone bad I told the nurse at therapy the other day that they should figure out a way to put a tank up in the ceiling so I would have something nice to look at while I lie on that table everyday. Thank God I only have one more week of this particular therapy! I know every mark and crack in that ceiling tile.

No Lynn, I don't need water this weekend. I don't have anyone to carry it in the house. I can't undo what therapy is beginning to do.

Thanks Jack for the on the stand. It now has tank on it. Fianlly! This is as slow moving as BigAls and he has an excuse, I have none other than I don't know what the heck I am doing with it yet.

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

Definitely don't undo the therapy. Glad there is only a week left. Hopefully you will feel better once it is done.
Just give me a call when you are back up to it and we'll get together and see what trouble we can get into this time.

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

Well after a bit of a break I figured I should get cracking on this 24 again. Today I undid the temporary stuff and put the tank on the stand, mixed the salt, cut my egg crate, placed it in the tank, filled it with water, put my sand in and this is what it looks like now. well that might have to wait, I used my sons camera and I can't get the memory card door open to put it in my camera so I can upload the photos. these are the type of things we take for granted when we can use our hands normally, huh?

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

Ok, finally, now I can post pictures of today's events. It really was a normal quiet day today , nothing spectacular happening, just filling the tank and putting sand in it, ya know the normal stuff. Here it is with sand, water and yes there is a rock in there somewhere, promise....

After getting everything set up I had some other things to do so I busied myself around the house and at one point I thought I heard that "jaws" music. I thought nothing of it at first, but it kept getting louder and it sounded like it was coming from the "sports" room...hmmm, well I went to the room and not only did I hear the music, but I heard a terrible splashing noise. I quickly ran into the other room and grabbed my camera...I have learned that when you hear splashing in your house you had better grab the camera because those wonderful, nosey people on RS want to see pics of everything! Camera in hand I run back to the room and oh my , this is what I saw...coming out of the dark murkiness of the water............

I got closer and then I saw that there was not only one huge fish in the 24 but 2 and one was going to get eaten...I got closer to get you guys better pictures. Oh I was so brave...

there was such thrashing and gnashing of teeth, water was going everywhere and here I was, brave, battling the splashing water just to get you these dramatic pics.

After the pictures were taken the top to the tank went down, the water became still and quiet, nothing in the murky depths of the 24 stirred leaving the 24 gallon pod still a mystery.
