Cat, you are a great story teller! That was so nice of Lynn to give you her nano. She is an angel. I agree with Kathy about the placement. It would look great on the bar facing out from the wall.

Love the rock!!!
I thought of that and it would be perfect because there is a little sink behind the bar helping to make water changes a breeze. However, that big book case is in the way. This thing is huge and very heavy and have no other place to put it. There is another bookcase I have been slowly clearing off and thinking of giving away and this one could go in there, but I am thinking there was a reason we put this bookcase here, but I don't remember. Perhaps because it is so heavy.

I have a small girl cat who looks alot like Muffin. She refuses to help, just waits expectantly when I fiddle with the tanks. I think she expects me to fish her out a meal (pun intended). She sits on the dining room chairs and watches the 37, and Spot the domino damsel reciprocates by bobbing up and down in her general direction.

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

How about on the stand, against the wall to the right of the bar. Nice little tank for softies, shrooms and zoas. Add an algae blenny, 6 line wrasse, and a royal gramma and you'd have my kind of tank.

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

Is the tank wider than the bar? The end of the bar, as Kathy suggested, looks like a great place. You don't need to see in the side. Great rock!

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

Tank isnt wider than the bar, but the tank is wider than where the support beams of the bar are and with the constant weight of tank and water, I am thinking that might not be a good thing.

That end of the bar must be sitting on a ledger board.

Congrads! I think Jack should be a good guy and fly out and reinforce the bar than you could have it all. I love rocks. Can't wait until you decide what to do with it. I can never get enough of them--------except for the ones that surround me; they are the only ones I do not like. Cobble stone from the river. I want huge moss covered ones. Is that too much to ask?

Waiting with bated breath to get the next saga of the story.

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

The question wasn't meant for the 24, that project is nothing, I am talking about when I get my house or build my house around a tank! lol Actually when I do get my house what I really want to do is have a wider wall , almost room like behind the 90 in which I am able to walk and have all wires, plumbing, sumps, chillers, ato, everything going into that wall area. Want it's own circuits, and plumbing and it's own ac duct to handle the heat issues (if any). Now on the big tank (which I am thinking like 200 g)I want to be an island tank wondering if all plumbing / wiring could lead outside, similar to what you did in your chronicle. That is why I was teasing you about "coming to FL" because I wasn't sure if it could work, until I saw what you had done. Anyway that is neither here nor there yet, just a idea playing in my head as to tanks, nothing in stone yet, so until then , no need to comment.

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

Can't take total credit for this one though I do play a part. She did buy the tank from me. I was not quite generous enough to give it away.
From what I understand there may be a stand on the way? Did things change again?
That rock really is gorgeous. I can't wait to see what you make of it. Several options are easy so it should be cool.
Something to think about if you are not in a hurry is to let the roock "cure" in the 24 for several weeks. Then you could add it to the 65 without being afraid.
That is what we just did. After the rock stitting in the 90 for several weeks, Frank took a large piece and added it to the reef. Other than being a large white rock in them middle of totally purple rock (which just needs time) we didn't see any ill effects.
Just another thought.

Re: 24 G Mystery Pod

Nope, ordered the stand and rock is just sitting there curing away...nothing else.. just my little caged rock. When I feel well enough or when my stand arrives I will put sand in it and then I will have sand and rock... Speaking of which I am getting the stand made for it which is half the price of what I was going to pay up there.
