Well what I thought was going to be good news just turned into alot of extra work. The propane company can't remember where the put the line that means every hole has to be done by hand.

Al I dont think I will be hacking any golf balls this Sunday.

Maybe I will get lucky & find the point that crosses my path early enough to use the Tractor & Auger instead of Jack the Auger.

Remember? That's NOT a comforting thought that they would rely on "memory". Around here they have a crew that does nothing more than go around surveying and marking all utility lines and pipes. Don't they have some type of "meter" to find it? What about going from last visible point of the line to the next and then very delicately "searching" out the line. Gotta be a way to find it and "Auger" around it

We are going to have a friend try to find it with a metal detector. If not I will dig by hand. We have them here as well. They relay alot on plans

You could hand dig the line from the propane tank to the house. That way you would always know exactly where it is.

straighten out a couple of coat hangers and practice dowsing or as I would do, there has to be a line valve out at the road somewhere, shut it off dig dig dig, fix it "if" you break it

O I got home & saw a garden hose on an angle across my escavated area maybe they found it I will let you know as soon as I know something more.

It is a really good thing I decided to ask my son to look for the pipe by digging. The propane company was way off in the estimating of where it was.

With everything set today is the day I plan to start in about 40 minutes or so on the digging, drilling, shading, building etc of phase number 1 of this project hopefully Vicki will take lost of pictures of work in progress.

By the end of the day I plan to have all the post set in concrete & the outer frame in place.

Ok so I started the project today. A few snags along the way.

Tractor wouldn’t start took out the starter then jumped it started. Then it wouldn’t start again jumped it again. So we hooked up the auger & found out the auger was bent. Go passed that then the tractor stopped & wouldn’t start. Cleaned all the terminals & everything was cool. Drilled all 12 holes bigger than really needed but it was a great time saver. Re-laid my lines & had my son finish the dig out that was a chore in itself. Shaded the holes.

Erected the stilts 7 attached the floor joists. This sump room could second as a tornado shelter or bomb shelter as rock solid as it is built.

I will post pictures either tonight or tomorrow am. As I forgot to go to the hop & tae care of the tanks today so I am going to do that first.

Sounds like even with your small set-backs you made GREAT progress today. That's awesome buddy.

AL you are 100% correct I always believe adapt & over come the issues @ hand. No matter what.

Here are a few pictures that my Photog aka Vicki took while I was working. I decided not to get to photo intense on this part of the project. But as you all Know once the Tank build starts it will be very intense.

Funny thing I mentioned in an earlier post that the propane line was somewhere in the area & the propane company marked it. Lesson learned never trust them to mark anything

The hose was left to see how close the propane company was to the actual line. I think he was taking after Bob & pluming the night before .
