Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Well that stinks Al . They must of had quite an argument if the rental property came up! Do You have a signed agreement with these people? Tank or not ,You don't need to worry about a place to live every time these people have a fight! Good Luck!

Thanks Bro! Yeah it was very "Extensive" and it was unfortunately more than a "fight" ..... and to be honest the "Rental Property" didn't come up. See they are our life long dear friends as well. He came up last night for "support". Fortunately nothing has been mentioned about "Rental Property" but Julie and I don't want to stick our heads in the mud and ignore to the potential for moving in the future as well. We do have a "Contract" but it's up in January.

We've just decided that until we hear more about their marriage we're not going to get the tank WET! It would be shame to have to break it down in a month or so just as it's getting cycled etc. Hopefully I'm just being TOO cautious but better that than the alternative.

Thanks for reading and ALL of your support! BTW I have thoroughly enjoyed your Tank Chronicle!

Re: BigAl's slow chronicle . . .

Thanks gang! I REALLY appreciate the kind words and support. This place really "feels" more like a family than an internet forum. Go figure

Update: Yesterday the landlord and his wife and young son were all 3 outside together raking leaves and hauling in firewood. That may seem trivial but it's a VERY good sign.24 hours before the Mon & Dad weren't even sitting in the same room unless the boy was involved. So maybe, just maybe, things have taken a turn for the good. I'd still appreciate your thoughts and prayers for that family especially with it being such a special and LOVING time of year. I would LOVE to see them have a Very Merry & Happy Family Christmas together

Again thank you ALL for reading this ssslloooowwww chronicle

Re: BigAl's slow chronicle . . .

Talked in depth with the Landlord last night and it seems every thing's "Good Again" at home. I'll proceed with "Caution" but proceed ahead just the same. I just left Jack a PM to get a couple of prices and I should be GOOD to go. The LFS owes Me some money (computer house call in LATE at night) so I am going to have him order some LS in for me. I have YET to decide on a bare bottom or SSB so I guess I need to make that decision next. Any drawbacks to a BB tank?

Its ugly I guess its all about your opinion. I have seen some BB tanks that you didnt even notice being bare bottom. I prefer the SSB.
