Re: BigAl's slow chronicle . . .

I left my camera at work by mistake so we were "Camera-less" over night. They are in the "Frag-Tank" right now as more of a quarantine process to make sure they don't end up "Melting". I'm curious to see how they do under the conditions that all of my other forms of Xenia literally THRIVE under.

The 90g is coming along nicely... I was initially going to do large water changes but since I can only mix approximately 35g at a time I guess I'm doing approximately 1/3 changes. I've done two thus far and the numbers are rising but since it's only 1/3 at a time and since it's over a longer period I've only seen a slight water parameter (mainly Calc) improvement. I've had to skip THIS week's WC due to getting ready for a family wedding. I'm in charge the "entertainment" aspect of it and it's taking literally HOURS to get the slide-show and all the music organized.

Thanks for reading

Re: BigAl's slow chronicle . . .

I think I have SOME understanding of the numbers. Everything is slowly coming back into order in my water parameters!!

I installed my ATO last night! I LOVE IT!!

Re: BigAl's slow chronicle . . .

I don't have any pics but I DO have an update..

I came home tonight and had NO evaporation (I'm still tweaking valves switches etc). So I thought I'd life the switch block up (engaging the pump). Magically the fill tube starts pumping water from my MJ600 into the sump. I drop the switch block and the water keeps coming out. I react and pull the power. Water keeps pouring out! It's siphoning itself out! OUCH!!

I need to look into it more tomorrow night.. GRRRRRR

The outlet of your fill tube needs to be above the level of the top of the reservoir. Or you need to put an anti siphon hole in the line somewhere. Also make sure the outlet of the tube is not submerged.

I find it best to have the outlet of the tube go up the back of the tank and dump into the overflow box.
