Re: BigAl's slow chronicle . . .

I do agree to a point Scott. About cheaper Solaris though I am lookingi for simpler (not programmable) because I have a controller. I think if they can provide a quality unit that is simply ON/OFF/Lunar and can reduce the cost they would hit a MUCH larger market of consumers.

Yes quality = $$ but I am sure I can build/buy a quality T5 set-up for less than the $700+ price tag of the Current Outer Orbit unit. Wouldn't you agree to that statement?

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

I have no doubt that you can build a good light. I thought we were talking about all-in-one lighting systems like the Solaris, Coralife Aqualights or Current lights etc.

I agree about the programability. If I knew a simpler Solaris model was coming out without the controller I would have waited because I have a Neptune Aquacontroller III. When I get my Solaris, the controller will almost not be needed. But, I'm impetuous and was floored when I saw this lighting system at MACNA! I'm not good at trade shows, I'm infact bad, very, very bad!

I'm still waiting for "verification" on this matter. The speaker last night was very knowledgeable but he could also have been mistaken.

Yeah I go CRAZY at trade shows. Luckily I don't go to many and DON'T take any currency to them.
