I did. I placed it into my tank just the same as if it were thriving. Who knows.. maybe there is enough tissue hidden WAY down in there that it can survive a little!! If it doesn't, I think I'll use the skeleton and glue some Zoas onto it to make a NEAT looking Zoa thingy.

I wont buddy. I'm gonna leave it in there Just In Case

I got some "Nuclear Green Hairy Mushrooms" from a fellow RS Reefer and they self destructed in transit and showed up DOA. I went ahead and put the "remnants" into my tank just in case (worse case I could re-use the rubble for something else later). I watched them melt and dissolve to nothing. Well I forgot about them for probably 6 months or so. Recently I was moving some rock around in my 12g Cube (work tank where things go when I get them shipped) and noticed two little tiny "nuclear green" spots on a couple of rock. I pulled them out and brought them home to my Frag Tank (Great lighting, premium water conditions and LOTS of flow). Well about a month later one of them is the size of a 50cent piece and the other the size of a quarter. How COOL is that?

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

I wish EITHER of those were true!

I am headed to the "Flying Field" shortly to do some heli flying... RC heli... does that count?

Re: BigAl's slow chronicle . . .

Allen, you had mentioned the interest in heli's before. What kind did you get or are you training on? I used to have a small electric heli, it was a blast to fly!!

Re: BigAl's slow chronicle . . .

Mark I'm on #2 right now. Well it's "En-Route" to me. It's a Blade CP+ small electric heli. I "thought" I was better than I was and totally destroyed the previous one last week. Replacement on its way.

Re: BigAl's slow chronicle . . .

I've smashed a few planes in my time, it can be really messy when you crunch one of those lipos... And people think reefing is an expensive hobby!!

That CP+ is a nice little bird. I never flew with pitch control on the blade though, that adds a whole new dimension (upside down if you're brave enough...).

Sorry to go off-topic on your thread, but I get excited about R/C. I sold all my stuff a while back...

Hey no need for sorry.. I know the guy who owns this thread. He's a jerk but that's ok too

Yeah I've been flying planes since I was 6ish. It was something my father was getting me into but "life" took us apart. I still stayed with it and eventually learned to fly the planes. I taught myself to fly them (insert LOTs of $$$ and pain here). I've cut WAY back on the R/C in the last few years. Sold almost all of my stuff except for some basics.

I have a buddy who "Flies R/C helis" as part of his daily job and he's gotten me into it. I SUCK at it but it's getting better (can't tell that by the pile of heli parts in the bag beside me). I've been spending a lot of "Stick Time" on the SIM and I think it's paying off.

going with adjustable pitch really does make it a whole other ball-game. Once I get the hang of it I'll be glad though. I already have my next bird picked out but I wont dare get it till I master one at this level. That may be years who knows. I'm lucky to have a good friend who gets "Team" stuff and passes it on. That helps a LOT!!!
