Re: Akwar'eum

I do know our water "tastes" good! It's almost as good as the water we left with Chris. In a national test survey (years ago) our area had the most pure well water in the country. I will test mine though so Terry (and we) can have warm fuzzies...those are fun!

Sorry Craig but I cannot agree.

One should use by no means drinking water from the water power mains. Drinking water, all the same of which quality, is always added chlorine and this is more or less the worst one what one to bacteria and living beings in the stones can do.

The water to my house in Reno is from a 2006 Water Act compliant facility that is heavily filterd and sterilized by UV. Chlorine was minimal and so that is why after 3 years my tank had pristine water quality using tap water. I know that this is an anomoly!

That's fine for you Craig and may be in your case OK, however, normally chlorine is added to the most drinking water and chlorine is already in the smallest quantity daethly for bacteria. This is exactly the reason WHY to the drinking water chlorine is added. Germs and bacteria should be killed, independently, as already said, of the QUALITY of the water. But i am sure you know that.

Re: Akwar'eum

Did anyone else see the report about what exactly is in our tap water? Check out this CNN article...needless to say, I use RO/DI for everything now

Prescription drugs found in drinking water across U.S. - CNN.com

yep .... ... and this water is VERY MUCH PROPERTY and from the health centre the well supervised, contains still enough materials which can harm our animals. As I find, RO/DI is a MUST!

Any source of water from facilities not 2006 Safe Drinking Water Act compliant are at risk for sure!

Re: Akwar'eum

Thanks guys and gals! Our water is from a well, far out in the country far away from industry or farms using pesticides. What is in it is what mother nature sees fit to include. I believe there is a limestone base which the water flows through but I haven't tested it yet.

Re: Akwar'eum

JoJo, you have no idea how much we love it out here! Our other house was in the country also, but this one is prettier, more private (can't see anyone at all) and quiet. Each morning I wake up, make coffee, and sit on the back deck for about 20 minutes to watch the birds, rabbits and squirrels do their thing, it's wonderful!
