From your current tank and your success there I have confidence your new big set up will be even more wonderful.
I am trying not to get ahead of myself for sure. I have a great tendency to be impatient, and have to resist the urge here. I have ordered everything for the tank now, and things are starting to come in. I am having the dry goods shipped this week. I will get the curing facility ready at the new house once those items come in. My LR is being drop shipped to Atlanta airport once I call and give the word to ship. Once we close on the house I will dismantle the current tank and move it to the new house because if I leave it for Chris to take care of I might as well throw the animals out on the ground now. Jack still hasn't called with the total for the tank yet. I think it's already being built though, that was my understanding anyway.

Tanks Barb for your confidence!

Are you kidding me? You???

Greg, LOOK at your tank! Have you looked at it lately? It's AWESOME! And all the things you've done to make it that way and keep it that way... Simply GENIUS!!!

You're new big tank will be stunning! You won't let it be anything but...

Greg, you've got the basics down, now it's just a matter of applying them to 4-times more water, it'll be a piece of cake!

Re: Akwar'eum

My Beckett injectors, 1 1/2 " valve and nylon screws came today. I hope the plastics come soon, so I can build the beckett skimmer and have it ready for curing the LR.

Re: Akwar'eum

Ha! Beat ya Jason!! #500 and it will be ending soon, which brings me to JoJo, I'll be ending this one with the breakdown and starting anew. Maybe Gregs Reeferific Akwar'eum (thanks Scott).. I really like the Akwar'eum name and want to keep it in the title.

Here is the Beckett Skimmer that Frankie built: DIY Beckett Skimmer Mine won't be as slick as his just to save a little money and build time. It will still function just fine though.

Re: Akwar'eum

Well, we are no longer homeless!! We closed at 3:30 today, then went and picked up 600 freakin' dollars worth of paint, came home and loaded the truck with the first load of stuff and have been at the house cleaning. Gail and I are thrilled to be basically starting over again. She may have a little empty nest syndrome simply because the yard here at Chris' looks mature and stupendous right now! The azaleas are amazing this year. Our new house will be too, and Chris got a huge boost for a young 20 year old buying his first home and being given 45 grand in equity. We go to Lowes tomorrow for a line of credit for the stove, refer, and dishwasher, curtains...plus other odds and ends. We couldn't be happier!!

Jack called today and gave me a delivery date of May 28 for the tank. The clear acrylic sheets came, but the 8 and 4 1/2"pipe didn't. I guess it will be here Monday. One of my pumps from Ebay shipped also. I have been trying to think of the logistics of moving the current tank to the new house. I think I may dismantle the refugium, move it and set it back up, then move the fish and corals to it, then move the 75 and set it up. Does anyone want to baby sit a mandarin and a scooter blennie while this move is going on, or do you think they will be OK? I am most worried about them.

Gail and I are excited that "The Fish Store and More" has moved to this side of Atlanta. It is a terrific LFS but was in a nightmarish place to get to so we stopped going.,...so YAY!

That's all I've got. Terry, I've got extra paint brushes,...ya know, just in case

Re: Akwar'eum

Didn't I mention that Patti does MOST of the painting? She'll paint a room and it looks great. Two months later, I'll come home and the room is a completely different color. I think she enjoys painting.

CONGRATS GREG and GAIL!!! I have a feeling that Gail will LOCE starting over again, redoing the landscaping, finally getting the colors in the rooms she really wants, all that stuff. I know when Patti starts talking like "You know, I think if we..." I know that it's going to cause a lot of work for me.

For your stove, consider this... We bought a stove that has two ovens in it, neither are convection, just two ovens. The top one is pretty small. We have YET to use the big bottom one. That saves us quite a bit in electric. Just passing along our experience.

We also bought an Over the Stove convection microwave. We have yet to use the convection part.

May 28th, eh? hmmmm.......

That saves us quite a bit in electric. Just passing along our experience. We are getting a gas stove. Gail loves to cook on gas (and so do I when I cook). The house already has gas hooked up for two space heater so that's taken care of.

We also bought an Over the Stove convection microwave. We have yet to use the convection part. The mocrowave we are getting has a radiant top browning feature. It's pretty cool!

May 28th, eh? hmmmm....... YEP!! Lot's-O-Work til then my friend!
